inches total before all is said and done. yes, there are school announcements. we have them running at the bottom of the screen, on alert four.. and at ktiv- dot-com. let's bring it back to ground level. this is a live view from le mars, iowa.. the overpass over highway 75 near the wells dairy headquarters. you can see that while we don't any snow on the ground here in sioux city, you don't have to go very far up the road to run into the white stuff. snow is on the ground and as you can see, visibility is limited by the blowing snow. when the snow falls, sioux city crews will be ready with the snowplows and sand trucks. they'll hit the priority one streets first. those are the big ones like floyd boulevard, hamilton boulevard, outer drive, and gordon drive. downtown streets are also "priority one". after that, the "priority two" streets get the attention. streets like glen oaks bouelvard, grandview boulevard and stone avenue.

residential streets are handled third. you'll find more about the city's street priority system inside this story at ktiv-dot-com. to get the very latest on the roads around siouxland, you can find them at ktiv-dot-com. under the "weather" tab you will see "road reports." from there you can click on for the very latest road conditions. the cedar county sheriff's office is investigating a head-on collision that claimed the life of a south sioux city, nebraska man last night. it happened shortly after seven on highway 15, three-and- a-half miles south of laurel. authorities say 25-year old aaron surber was killed when the jeep liberty he driving went across the center line and into the path of an oncoming pickup truck. surber's jeep rolled several times and came to rest in a cornfield. sheriff's officials say he was not wearing a seatbelt, wawathrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. a female passenger in his s-u-v was buckled in and escaped with minor injuries. the driver of the pickup was not reported to be injured.

blu hotel l mali's capital, bamako.o. 125 are guests, 133 hotel staff members. at one point the hotel said 170 guests and employees were taken hostage. pentagon corresponden t jim miklaszewski reports about 25 u-s military personnel were at the hotel and helped organize the evacuation. mark barger, nbc news >> french officials say a third body was found in the apartment raid that killed the alleged mastermind behind last week's paris attacks. the body is that of a woman. it's isn't known who she was or whether she blew herself up, like one of the two other people who died in yesterday's police raids. also today, word from france's prime minister that one more person has died as a result of last week's attack, raising the death toll to 130. it could go higher, because hundreds of people were wounded by the attackers, many severely. a logan, iowa man will not go to prison for pushing his wife out of a moving vehicle on interstate 29. 39-year old shane vanderlinden pleaded guilty to two amended misdemeanor charges. he had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in august after

later this morning/early this a&ternoon as the snow spreads, intensifies and eventually drops a widespread band of 4-8 inches with some locally heavavr amounts farther east of sioux city before exiting around midnight tonight. that will leave us cold both tonight and saturday when lows hit the teens and highs reach the 20s. we'll eventually work week and melt some of this off before some rain chances return for thanksgiving.

"nat sound of bell ringing." the salvation army began its annual red kettle campaign. volunteer bell ringers collecting donations for the charity will be out in front of 15 locations in siouxland this year... including walmart, fareway, hyvee, hobby lobby, and jc penney. they're looking for volunteers and reminding peopleleo donate. spirit. the bells in siouxland have been ringing for over a hundred years. it's just the sound of the season to walk into a department store and be part of ringing those bells, it just brings christmas right here into siouxland," says allison liska with the salvation army of siouxland. the bell ringers will be out monday through saturday from 10:30 to 7 until christmas eve. the goal this year is 180- used to support the salvation

the 50,000 square foototpec building is located across the street from the se of the new pork processing plant. it's a shell that can be customized to any number of uses. city leaders say they've had success in the past with spec buildings like this that are move-in ready. a fundraiser for the symphony's hundredth season which i'm very honored to be a part of. that's amazing. what kind of music will you be playing? both the carnegie hall concert and this concert at the orpheum will be the premiere of a new album that i just recorded called fusion. it's music i collected from all over the world. a lot of it's south american, some very beautiful music. some very exciting music, a lot of the south american music is really unknown in u.s. audiences. this will be the premiere of the new album and there will be a cd signing and reception after the concert. that is amazing. i heard that your show at carnegie was amazing and pretty much sold out which is great. it was an incredible experience. we had well over 150 people fly to new york for the concert, a lot of them from this area. the concert was pretty much sold out. this concert is coming up the 22nd at 4 in the afternoon, if people would like tickets what should they do? there's going to be tickets at the door. it's general
