3 athletes 2 coaches.. an athletic trainer and the isu pilot were all killed while returning from a cross country meet in milwaukee. today, a group of runners and cyclone nation gathehed to remember the tete. they finished a surprising second in the nc-aa national meet. one victim was athletic trainer stephanie streit who was planning to go to medical school. streit was from hawarden, iowa. her close friend spoke to surviving members of the 1985 team. "to the iowa state cross country team, she loved serving you, she wanted you to be successful, she loved you, and you rocked it that day." after the ceremony people laid roses on the site of the crash. a permanent memorial is planned for the site to remember the victims. the cause of the crash was attributed to icing on the plane's wings. also, killed in the crash sheryl maahs from spirit lake, iowa. she was a runner on the team. sioux city fire rescue trying to

figure out the cause of a blaze that broro out this morning inin morningside.. when crews arrived on the scene near south rustin and vine they saw smoke coming from the home. it appears the fire started in the kitchen, went up to the ceiling, and into the attic. no one was home with the fire broke out, but there was a cat and a dog inside. crews were ablblto save the cat, but the family's dog died in n e fire. the mother of a young girl killed by her daycare provider in orange city, iowa is speaking out about a judge's recent ruling. the sioux county attorney says he won't appeal the decision to cut a 100-year prison sentence for rochelle sapp in half. last year, sapp pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment charges. three-year-old autumn elgersma died in 2013. at the time, a plea deal dropped a first-degree murder charge. sapp had agreed to back-to-back 50-year sentences. in october, a district judge cut down the sentence by allowing then to run at the same time. autumn's mother says she is upset about the judge's decision but there's

investigators say they were looking for wilson's brother, who is a sex offender and was wanted on outstanding warrants. a northeast nebraska man's going to prison for stealing cattle. timothy ketelsen from bloomfield was sentenced to five to eight years. the 44-year-old pleaded guilty in september to charges of tax evasion, theft and illegal uale of livestock. ketelsen's former boss reported that 13 head of cattle had been stolen from his feedlot. besides the prisontime, ketelsen was ordered to pay more than $75,000 in restitution. a a nker from emmetsburg, iowa was sentenced in a banking scheme. 62-year-old richard jones received 14 months in federal prison. it was revealed during court proceedings defrauded iowa trust and savings bank. jones served as senior vice-president of the bank from 2003 to 2010. prosecutors say joneneforged signatures of unknowing bank customers. several others were also sentenced in the case for more go to our website, ktiv.com. a community gathered today to march in honor of native

american children. every year the "march to honor lost children" recocoizes children some tbal members say have been lost to adoption and foster care. the peaceful walk started at the war eagle monument in sioux city. "there's still disproportionate numbers of our children in foster care," said frank lamere, organizer of the march to honor lost children. freezing rain lingers longer in southern siouxland, the ice accumulationonwill be greater wi up to a quarter inch of ice expected and thus a winter storm warning for that area. central siouxland, including sioux city, is under a winter weather advisory for up to a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation followed by 1 to 2 inches of snow. this system moves out early thursday night leaving friday dry. still be careful on friday of some leftover slick areas though! we'll keep our weather quiet into the weekend with maybe a little more light snow by monday. still to come on news 4... see how veterans are getting help from man's best friend through a special program.

the national restaurant association says four- million people last year ordered out for their entire thanksgiving meal. maybe, you're one of them! ktiv's sam curtiss got a look behind the scenes at a local hy-vee to see how much goes into getting dinner on the tabab. there's no lack of detail in getting these thanksgiving meals ready. "these days can be a little bit challenging," said al metz. "we have to multi-task many, many, many things," said al metz. "about 3,500 pounds of turkey, about a 1,000 pounds of potatos, couple hundred gallons of gravy and a couple hundred pounds of dressing," said al metztz using an army of people. "it's a a , go, go and we all make it happen," said al metz. "you better had your break when you walked in the door because your break is going to be when you go home," said al metz. and the mind of a man who's done this a few times.
