>> thank you for that.classes have been canceled today at every public school in the greater los angeles area... almost 12-hundreds schools with 640-thousand students... ... closed, after at least one school board member received an electronic bomb threat, sent late yesterday. the superintenden t says the threat was was made against students at many of the district's schools, so today, police are searching every single building. the los angeles unified school district is the second- largest school district in the nation, covering 720 square miles. school district officials are about to hold a news conference.. and we'll be going to it live as soon as it happens. storm lake police are filling in a few more details about the disappearance of two young siblings and

grandmother after the children were found safe. police say 3-year old ymani banks and d ne-year-old yamir banks were found at a home in alta about six 'o clock last night. witnesses told police the children were dropped off by another family member earlier monday. police say the witnesses were unaware of a court order that the children be turned oveveto authorities. the chchdren's father, 32- year-old scott banks and their grandmother, 50-year-old dionne pamon are both charged with kidnapping. they're accused of hiding the children from officials with the iowa department of human services. the children have been turned over to the custody of d-h-s. >

made a stop in sioux city this morning. the democrat is talking to voters about why they should vote for hillary clinton. "hillary c cnton, she's about kids, she's about momsmsshe's about families that are trying to keep it together," says dean. at the house party, dean gave supporters two main reasons to vote for clinton, her decision making skills and her experience. "first, is she makes decision based on facts, not based on political reason or emotional reason and that is really important because when you are presesent, you better carerehat the facts are and the second is she e s been in the fight for working people, for middle class people for a very long time," says dean. he emphasized her record and says she's made change for average ericans. "she understand that the real problems in the country is that republicans have moved us toward a position to support the top 20 percent in expense of the other 80 percent. that is very dangerous for this country and we need to restore america to a position where the average perron has a chance agagin. money cannot equal speech or wealthy people will have everything," says dean. :51 "there's nobody that has the experience that she has," says tim bottaro, the host of the event. "back when she was just the first lady, you'd have to question, but she's so much part of what american needs."

dean ran for the democratic nomination for president in 2004. he's also served as chairman of the democratic national committee. he also making six other stops in iowa later today and tomorrow to campaign for clinton. round 5 of the republican presidential debates takes place tonight in las vegas. it will be the first faceoff for republicans in more than a month, and also the first since the attacks in france and california. trump still sits atop the gop field, but finds himself being challenged by senator ted cruz. cnn's dianne gallagher is in las vegas with a preview.

donald trump has a huge lead, at least in the national polls. he has crossed the 40-percent mark in a national poll from monmouth university. that's more thth the next three competitors combined. the polllng began last thursday, just days after trump announced his plan to temporarily ban muslims from entering the u-s. it's a move that may have gotten backlash, but as we've seen with trump before, that just strengthenen his support. take a look at this poll from abc news, suggesting nearly 60-percent of republicans back the proposal. it's no surprise to the billionaire businessman. "i mean i feel like it's pretty obvious that the university of iowa is not standing with isis, the terror organization but i guess if you know we don't want to seem affiliated with it, if that's the case," said iowa university student, heidi aude. a university spokesperson said the university is seriously considering the acronym change. december has been much too warm for some people in minnesota. temperatures in minneapolis have been as high as 10 degrees above average. and weather watchers say the city is nearly 8 inches below average for snowfall so far this season. so how are winter r orts lovers coping? molly rosenblatt found out.
