calling wednesday's protest in minneapolis a success. they managed to disrupt operations at the nation's largest mall during holiday shopping -- and at the airport. jennifer mayerle has more.

the group says they want justice for jamar clark - the 24 year old who was shot and killed by minneapolis police last month. they also want video of the shooting released. and in the bigger picture, the group wants an overhaul of the justice system. the man who admitted to killing three people and wounding nine others at a

parenthood will undergo a mental health evaluation. a judge ordered the evaluation for robert dear after he told the judge he wants to represent himself in court. the e -year-old made the request at a status hearing yesterday afternoon. he faces 179 counts which includes murder in the first degree for his shooting rampage on november 27-th. dear told the judge that that the forced psychological evaluation goes against his constitutional rights. he is due back in court on february 24-th for a status conference. the entire process could take up to nine months. spencer, iowa, police need your help tracking down the suspects, who broke into a local mall, and stole cash from an atm. early yesterday morning, spencer's police chief says the suspects entered the southpark mall by breaking out a window near the front entrance. once inside, they opened the nearby atm machine, and removed the money inside. if you have any information about this crime, call the spencer

two people are dead, and two others are in the hospital, after an afternoon car crash yesterday in buena vista county, iowa. the buena vista county sheriff says the two vehicles collided head-on on highway 7 near the raccoon river bridge, which is west of newell. two adults were pronounced dead at the scene, but authorities haven't released their names. two others were taken to the buena vista regional medical center, in storm lake, with non-life threateningngnjuries. the only person arrested in connection with a home invasion, in sioux city, will be arraigned on new year's eve. 21-year-old austin cummings of sioux city faces four charges connected to the robbery and assault that terrorized a sioux city woman, and her sons, back on december 7th. police say cummings was one of two men who entered the home of jodi blackwell in the 26- hundred block of south alice street about three a-m monday. the men asked for drugs and money. police say the victims believe they had the wrong house.

tied up and beaten with a crowbar while blackwell was held at gunpoint. the thieves took multiple video game systems, a tv and cell phone. dozens of people gathered yesterday to reflect on the life of jeanne kulskas, sioux city'y' first female firefighter. her funeral was held at st. joseph's catholic church where family, friends and firefighters came together to pay their last respects. there were prayers, hymns and a look back on vakulskas' accomplishme nts as a firefighter. those who knew her said her greatest accomplilien t was her three sons. "the thing that i'm so proud of is my daughter some day, because of what she accomplished, may have opportunities that otherwise she would not have," said jerry plathe, vakulskas' son. vakulskas joined the fire department in 1985, a career she dedicated her life to for 22 years. "she was just very compassionate," said sioux city fire chief tom everett. "she had a unique ability to be able to connect

a siouxland high school marching band is bowl bound. getting to perform during the half time show of nationally televised bowl game is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and it's a special chance for kids from gehlen catholic in le mars, iowa to represent their corner of northwest iowa.
