disturbance early saturday. one- 19-year-old quin-tonio legrier.. was said to be threatening his father with a bat. police say 55-year-old bettie jones, a neighbor, was shot accidentally. it's not known why police fired. the city's independent police review authority is investigating. one siouxland man is facing multiple charges after a drug bust. on friday, le mars officers and plymouth county deputies served a search warrant for narcotics. they searched a house on 1st avenue northwest and as a result, officers found remanants of a secret lab. 30-year-old, chase kounkel, was arrested and transported to plymouth county jail. he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. the investigation remains ongoing. an old church that was converted into a home was destroyed by a fire saturday. the fire happened in the 400 block of north conway street in dixon, nebraska. both people inside escaped without injuries. the red cross is helping the family. at this time, the cause of the fire remains under

"the big story through the state tournament, all classes, was winnebago. they were kind of the cinderella story. no one expected them to do what they did," said net producer and director, sue maryott. at preview event on sunday night, those attending could make a good will offering to help offset costs of attending the championship and other basketball tournaments. that was mike leury reporting. investigators have recovered pieces of the flammable device from the islamic center hoping to find more clues. but so far there are no suspects or arrests in the case. two big highway construction projects have gotten the okay to continue in siouxland. the iowa department of transportation has received bids of nearly $127-million- dollars for widening projects on both u-s highway 20 and interstate 29. one will pay for grading and paving of the highway 20 expansion from correctionville to holstein. that's part of an expansion to four lanes from just east of moville to early. the i-29 project will replace seven bridges and complete other paving and grading work as part of a $400-million-dollar plan. that will widen the freeway to six lanes near sergeant bluff to the south dakota border. coming up next, one man who suffered an accident that paralyzed him from the waist down is choosing to make others laugh. we'll share his inspiring story with you, after the break.
