security camera video shows the gunman first looking at produce.. then pulling out an assault rifle. after this footage showed up on tv.. the shooter's father came forward to authorities. he's been intentified as a member of israel's arab minority. and, he's still on the loose. residents and workers of local businesses arrived at the site of the shooting tonight to light candles in honor of the dead. new year's eve celebrations across the world saw increased security measures, as officials feared the threat of terrorism at a number of high-profile events. steve nannes has the details, including one stopped plot here on u.s. soil.

the des moines register reports policies governing iowa police and sheriff's departments' use of body cameras don't meet nationally recommended standards. some of the standards include public involvement and awareness. a review by the newpaper shows the public hasn't been involved in drafting policies. and, officers aren't telling people they're being recorded. earlier this month, we reported that sioux city police officers may start wearing body cameras this spring. the attorneyeyeneral of south dakota is warning people about a scam that is targeting people's email accounts. he says the scammers are hacking the email accounts to try and get personal information or money. here's tips from the state on how to try and stop identity theft. frequently change passwords and security questions. always log out from accounts. and, enable authenticatio n features. a new year brought new life to sioux city. unity point health-st. luke's

first baby of 2016 this morning. stephen was born at 8:47 a.m. wewehing in at six pounds, eight-and-a- half ounces. he's 19-inches long. his orgininal due date wasn't until january 12th but he had other plans. "due to low aminoc fluid i came in on wednesday to get induced and ended up having him at 8:47 this morning," said amanda cornish, mother. stephen's big sister kylynn is already stepping in to take care of her new baby brother. and the baby boy trend continues over at mercy medical center. alan was born at 10:15 this morning, weighing in at sevev pounds, two ounces and 20-inches long. his parents ana and vicente have two sons at home waiting to meet their baby brother. twins share lots of things but two siblings from california won't have to share the same birthday party. they were born on different days and different years in san diego. a baby girl was born one minute before midnight on new year's eve. her twin brother was born two

recap from pasadena tonight. the iowa hawkeyes plpling in pasadena for the first time in 25 years - but it's safe to say the first 11 seconds could have gone better for the hawkeyes - christian mccaffrey across the middle - took the kevin hogan pass to the house - 75 yards - iowa playing from behind very early - stanford's second drive provided another heavy dose of mccaffery - but it was kevin hogan - on the keeper from the 8 - would put the cardinal up 14, less than 6 minutes in - and the first quarter would get even worse after quenton meeks jumped a route - and took the beathard pass for the pick 6, stanford's 21 points the most for a team in the firir quarter in rose bowl history - and the hawkeyes - just couldn't stop mccaffrey from putting up video game numbers - mccaffrey returned a punt 63 yards in the second for a score and had 248 all-purpose yards before halftime - while the hawkeyes couldn't muster anything - beathard went down 3 times in the first half - iowa embarassed 35, nothing at the break - the second half finally brought something positive as a bad snap

hawks up deep in stanford territory - but all iowa could muster was a 39 yard marshall koehn field goal to break up the shut-out - but in the 4th quarter - they'd t one in to the endzone - beathard with a grere toss down the sidelines to matt vandeberg - 36 yards for the score - 38, 9 iowa - and they'd add another as akrum wadley came out of the backfield - beathard found him wide open as he'd sprint his way to the zone with a nice cut at the end - hawks still down 22 - and they got no closer - kevin hogan makes 'em pay one more time hitting michael rector on a big 42 yard touchdown play - hawkeye fans stuck around until the end - but this one would sting tonight - iowa falls 45, 16 - they're a great team. they took advantage of all our things today. all the small mistakes we made. they capitalized on them. their momentum they had in the first half, we just never really got a chance to stop it. we settled down a bit in the 2nd half, but we dug too deep a hole. we went down 21-nothing early and it's hard to come back from when

39-33 in the second half - falling to iupui 77 to 66. the sioux city musketeers ended 2015 with a 4-1 win over omaha. that win part of a three- game home stretch against the ushl's top three teams in the western conference. rookie eeli tolvanen scored his tenth goal of the season and helped assist on a third period goal. the win brings sioux city's record to o -13-1. it was also their second straight win and game only allowing one goal. head coach jay varady says through 27 games, the roster has changed a lot, including losing two players to injury thursday night. he says finding balance will be the key to future success. "for four games we played with seven guys out of our lineup," said jay varady. "anytime you do that you're couting on a lot of guys to play a lot of minutes. we're bringing players in from other places that really aren't that comfortable playing here. for us, we've just been playing in survival mode and we're happy where we are at." and that's where the musketeers
