pender, nebraska last night has claimed the life of the pilot. the single-engine cessna reportedly had left columbia, missouri, bound for sioux city. authorities at sioux gateway airport diverted the fligig to wayne because of bad weather. it was cloudy and foggy at the time. the plane should have arrived in wayne about seven last night. it was reported missing from radar at 7:18 by officials at sioux gateway. the wreckage was found about 1:30 this morning. the pilot was pronounced dead at the scene. his name hasn't been released. the faa is investigating. snow has tapered off, but the cold temperatures remain. here's t.j. with a check on the weather.
