suspect, but u.s. marshals in omaha, nebraska, told ktiv that a man wanted by police was involved in an incident on the santee sioux reservation yesterday. 25-year-old david hoffman has been on the run, in northeast nebraska, since tuesday afternoon. that's when he stole a niobrara, nebraska police officer's weapon as the officer tried to arrest him for burglary and theft. he took off on foot. the nebraska state patrol and other agencies joined the search for hoffman as niobrara schools and some businesses were locked down. officers searched cabins and other buildings at niobrara state park, but there was no sign of hoffman. niobrara state park reopened yesterday morning. since then hoffman hadn't been seen... until yesterday afternoon on the santee sioux reservation. an fbi spokesperson has promised additional details will be released on the reservation shooting. but, she didn't say when those details would be released. a teen faces arson charges after a fire that damaged a home in spencer, iowa on tuesday. eighteen-year-old bianca watkins is charged

the home, located at 612 3rd avenue west, ended up with major fire damage to the kitchen and dining area. watkins also faces two counts of animal abuse. in texas, a grand jury has made the decision to indict the state trooper who arrested sandra bland. 28-year-old bland died in her cell last year while in custody of the waller sheriff's office... three days after she was arrested by trooper brian encinia during a traffic stop. encinia was indicted on misdemeanor perjury charges. the grand jury decided last month not to indict jail workers on criminal charges. ethan couch's lawyer says his client is "fine" and that he will be visiting him as much as possible while he's being held in mexico city. fernando benitez is the lawyer for couch, the texas teenager who gained notoriety for his "affluenza" defense in a deadly drunken- driving case. benitez visited couch yesterday at the immigration detention center in mexico city where he is being held.

"to do what he did, i don't think it is going to have a bearing on the previous shootings, obviously," huckabee said. "i don't think it is going to help those who are going to break the law anyway.it just makes it harder for those who are

condition this morning after shooting himself when authorities moved in on him. law officers caught up with 25-year-old david hoffman yesterday afternoon on the santee sioux indian reservation. that's when he reportedly turned the gun on himself. hoffman had been the focus on an intense manhunt since tuesday afternoon when a niobrara police officer tried to arrest him on warrants for burglay and theft. authorities say hoffman took the officer's gun, pointed it at the officer, then fled on foot. the wife of republican presidential candidate mike huckabee stumped for her husband yesterday in sioux city. janet huckabee visited the "yards shooting range", where she spoke with supporters and took a few shots. mrs. huckabee says she agrees that background checks are important in registering gun owners, so they can focus on americans with mental health issues. but, she says president obama's executive orders to tighten gun ownership laws only hurt current gun owners. it's the final countdown to opening day of the launchpad children's museum in downtown
