the 20s and 30s for sisixland already tomorrow. today, new information on the student accused of bringing a gun to north middle school in sioux city. police say he's a 12- year-old boy and in 6th grade. and, he faces a charge of carrying a concealed weapon for the incident yesterday morning. police say the student showed his friend the unloaded handgun. the friend told his parents who then notified the school. "we don't believe in the i itial conversations that we had that there was the intent to bring a weapon to school to do harm to that student, to another student, to a staff member, anything like that," said dr. gausman. "again, that doesn't make it any less serious to us." the school district will make a final decision on the student in the next 45 days. for now he's not allowed on campus. a woodbury county sheriff's deputy is being credited with

a woman had been reported missing in sioux city two days ago. she was found near moville, iowa next in snow next to her car around 5 p.m. her name isn't being released. she was sent to mercy medical hypothermia. the nebraska state patrol investigating a deadly crash involving a sheriff's deputy in colfax county. deputy dananoughlin from fremont was going east on highway 30 when his car hit a deer carcass near rogers. that's two hours southwest of sioux city his vehicle crossed the center line and hit another vehicle. the deputy had just gotten off work. authorities in sac county, iowa have released the name of a man killed in a fire last week. when fire crews arrived on the scene between breda and auburn on friday morning, they found the house had already burned to the ground. the sheriff says 48-year- old daniel robert mielk died because of the fire. foul play isn't suspected. the cause is still under investigation.

discarded smoking materials caused the fire at sneaky's chicken in sioux city yesterday morning. sneaky's is continuing catering operations from a different location until cleaning and repairs can be made. parenting in a digital world was the target of a talk tonight at south sioux city middle school. the presentation showed parents take charge of their childs online activity. an education lawyer stressed that parents need to be both active and educated about their children's social media sites. "you need to be on the exact same platform as your kids are. i tell parents it's kind of like you want to live in the same town as your kid. your kid wouldn't move to lincoln and you stay in south siououcity so you want to be living in the same place as your kids are online as well.
