kitty, this is for you.> a u.s. official says the 10 american sailors who were briefly held by iran have been sent to a u.s. military facility in qatar. the sailors will be debriefed and will get medical checkups, but the official says there is no indication any were harmed. iran released the sailors--nine men and one woman-- today, one day after they were taken into custody when their small navy boats driried into iranian- claimed waters during a training mission. nbc's ali arouzi reports from tehran.

hit another vehicle. coughlin had just finished a 12-hour shift and was headed home to fremont when the accident happened yesterday morning. coughlin was pronounced dead at the scene. the driver of the other car was treated at a hospital and released. walmart is recalling 330- thousand griddles due to a shock hazard. the recall involves t tse rival brand griddles. they arerelack with model number xj-14207. farmers. the final harvest report released tuesday by the u.s. department of agriculture says iowa farmers brought in 2.5 billlln bushels of corn. that's 4 percent higher than the previous record t in 2009. iowa has led the nation in corn production for 22 consecutive years. the average per-acre yield of 192 bushels also is a new record. soybean farmers did very well too, producing a record crop. at 554 million bushels, this year's iowa soybean harvest exceeds the 2005 record by 5 percent. the per-acre yield also beat the 2020 record. and iowa beat out illinois as the top producing soybean state for the first time since 2012. nebraska also produced records with 1.69 billion bushels of corn and 306 million bushels of soybeans. u.s. district court judge mark bennett says the iowa supreme court should settle legal questions about whether farmland drainage districts can be held liable for

befofo a lawsuit filed by des moines water works can proceed. the utility is suing 10 drainage districts in buena vista, sac and calhoun counties over farm nitrates in the raccoon river. but there are many questions that have never been decided by the courts, such as immunity for drainage districts and which constitutiona l protections might apply to parties that challenge drainage systems. the drainagagdistricts have been around since the late 1800s. attorneys for the drainage districts say iowa's constitution has long protected them from legal liability. judge bennett said the legal issues warrant attention from the state's highest court.

ken tomac/hugh glass rendezvous "hugh glass crawled d to history. today, i was thinking, you know, he's like crawling out of history now. he's come back." tomac and others helped bring an advanced screening of the revenant, a movie based on glass's story to lemmon. the residents were among the first in the world to see it. laquita shockley/hug h glass rendezvous "for a small rural town like we are out in the prairie, it's kind of nice to see some revived interest." that revived interest started with the annual hugh glass rendezvous, celebrating the folk hero in the town. local artist john lopez sculpted this lifelike version of glass fighting a grizzly, which was on display before the screening. john lopez /hugh glass rendezvous "i think, in a lot of ways, we all want to say we can relate to hugh glass, you know. we all go through these trials in our life." at the after party, mixed reviews from people who came far and wide for the event. bob drown/bison, sd "yeah, i like the movie. it was really something how realistic it was."
