airport, starting may 5th. mayor bob scott made the announcement this morning. the new flight is in addition to the twice- daily flights to chicago o'hare. the flights will arrive from dallas forth worth at 12:20 p-m and depart from sioux gateway at 3:12. airport board president darrell jesse says the addition of the south- bound service validates the strength of the sioux city market and will give travelers easier access to southern and western destinations. all the flights are operated by the carrier's american eagle regional partner on 50-seat regional jets. tickets for the new dallas/fort worth flights go on sale starting tomorrow. 12 people are unaccounted for after two u.s. marine helicopters collided in mid-air about 2-and-a-half miles off the coast of hawaii overnight. witnesses reported that they heard a loud boom over the water and saw a big flare in the sky. officials say searchers spotted a fire and a debris field north off the island of

were hampering search efforts this morning. the coast guard is leading the search, coordinating with some navy and air force aircraft. a norfolk man's second attempt to appeal his murder conviction has been shot down. the nebraska supreme court today upheld the second degree murder conviction of 26-year old de'aris trice. trice was first convicted in 2013 for the stabbing death of 27- year-old timothy warren at a norfolk house party in december of 2010. but the state supreme court ordered a new trial, citing problems with jury instructions. trice was again found guilty in 2014 and given a prison sentence of 40 years to life. in his latest appeal, trice argued the trial court was wrong to allow transcripts of statements from some witnesses into evidence. he also said his sentence is excessive. the high court said it found no evidence that the trial court

"experts say this vertical axis wind turbine right behind me would be a game changer, and it would not only benefit the students of iowa lakes, but the whole state of iowa." "the opportunity for us from a learning and potentially future work force development and training opportunity is huge," said iowa lakes community college director of sustainable energy resources and technologies,

the turbine is in its final installation stages-- with chava trimming and tuning the blades while the school develops its power curve. over the next 6 months they will look at atmospheric data while teaching students about energy production and future marketing possibilities.
