(sheila) and i'm sheila brummer. presidential candidate dr. ben carson has suspended his campaign to mourn the loss of a campaign volunteer that died in an accident on an icy road in western iowa. (matt) 25-year-old braden joplin died at an omaha hsopital from with injuries suffered in a car accident, along interstate 80, in cass county. carson was in south carolina at the time of this morning's accident. a campaign spokesman says the van carrying joplin, two other carson volunteers, and a paidid staffer, flipped onto its side in the eastbound lanes of i-80, and was hit by another vehicle. "one of the precious few joys of campaigning is the privilege of meeting bright young men and women who are so enthusiastic about their country that they will freely give of their time and energy to work on its behalf... america lost one of those bright young men today." points in the latest poll. (sheila) sanders' supporters crowded into sioux city's orpheum theatre to hear the vermont senator speak. (sheila) ktiv's tiffany lane was there and has the details. tiffany? matt and sheila, the crowd was cheering "feel the bern" before senator bernie sanders arrived for the last of his four stops in iowa today. once he made his way on to the stage, he started off with on a very specific message... fighting corporate greed. sanders talked about being the only candidate without a super pac. he touted having more than 2.5 million individual contributions from more than one million people. he says that's more than any other candidate in u-s history. "we are raising enough money to run a winning national campaign and we're doing it without begging corporate america or millionaires for their support," said sanders. sanders took a shot at hillary clinton, saying that every day she rolls

endorse her campaign. sanders says he has hundreds of thousands of working people providing his campaign with contributions. along with his vision of an economic future that doesn't just work for the top one percent, sanders called the country's current issue of income inequality to be quote "immoral" as well as unsustainable. sanders said, over the last 40 years, this country's middle class has been disappearing. (sheila) tiffany, what's sanders' plan to restore the middle class? (tiffany) he said as president, he would raise minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour, as well as, provide equal pay for women. matt and sheila? came out against senator ted cruz's presidential candidacy. branstad, speaking at a renewable fuels conference near des moines, today, says cruz opposes renewable fuels, like ethanol, and says it would be a "big mistake" to support him. he is the biggest opponent of newable fuels and he actually introduced a bill in 2013 to immediately eliminate the renewable fuel standard. he is heavily financed by big oil. iowa leads the nation in ethanol production. snow blanketed much of siouxland today, but do we have in store tomorrow? for that, let's toss it over to chief meteorologis t ron demers with the first look at our forecast. ititas a day of snow for much of siouxland as a s stem moved through with about 1 to 3 inches of snow for much of the area. e snow is moving to the east and we'll see quieter weather for wednesday with a little better warming as highs get into the upper 20s. northeast iowa teen charged in the drunk driving deaths of two siouxland teens, last year. (sheila) the state has pulled a plea agreement accepted by 19-year-old trevor feauto. o months ago, feautotoleaded guilty to two counts of felony vehicular homicide. prosecutors say feauto was driving drunk when his pickup truck crashed into a car near breda, iowa. 16-year-olds bailey jacobsen and lindsey quirk, both from wall lake, iowa, were killed in the crash. sac county attorney ben smith says the plea deal was pulled because the victims' families

think it gave the victims "justice." feauto's new trial should start this spring. the community y correctionville is one step closer to renovating the town's pool. the woodbury county superviors approved a five-thousand dollar donation for the pool. the supervisors signed a letter of support at last weeks meeting. county supervivsor mark monson says it's important to support these community improvement projects. "it'll be a reasonable draw. swimming pools are expensive to opperate and not all towns can have them; so i think it'll be very good," said mark monson, woodbury county supervisoror the correctionvil le mayor says the upgraded pool will only draw more attention to the town. "it is a pool that surrounding communities do use. we feel that upgrading the pool will make our community more desirable to people looking to relocate to the area," said nathan heilman, correctionville mayor. construction on the project is set for completion this spring.

(matt) when it comes to setting limits on teen driving, parents and teens don't always see eye to eye. (sheila) a university of michigan survey found in families where parents said they put restrictions on their child's driving ... the teens themselves said they had no limits. these restrictions include cell phone use, the number of passengers and driving times and locations. among parents who rated their teen's drivivi as above average, nearly two-thirds said they still setetimits. the c-d-c is recommending pregnant women, who have recently traveled to areas where the zika virus is transmitted, be screened for the mosquito-borne disease. this applies to pregnant women,
