a half-block west of norfolk high school at around 2:45 a.m. fire officials on scene said that there was heavy fire and smoke emanating from the rear of the house when they arrived, but said everyone was able to get out safely. the blaze was brought under control within an hour, and most of the fire crews had left the scene by 4 a.m. a cause of the fire is under investigation. frustrations continue to spill over in flint, michigan as the city continues to deal with its' contaminated water supply.. yesterday, water donated by the entertainer cher was delivered to the 100- thousand or more who still are unable to use tap water.. michigan's governor has promised answers.. and action -- as federal and state criminal investigations continue.. jay gray has the latest..

investigators are combing over a investigators are combing over a tour bus two days after a fatal accident in northern california. the california highway patrol is leading the investigation into the crash, while the national transportation safety board is conducting their own. two women were thrown from the greyhound bus and killed when it flipped onto its side on a highway in san jose tuesday morning. authorities say the driver lost control of the bus before it crashed into safety barrels and flipped. the driver allegedly told officials he was fatigued at the time of the accident. a nebraska school held a session to teach kids what to do in the event of an active shooter. the wausa and bloomfield school districts held an active shooter training session, that included a seminar and role play scenario. some of the teachers learned that what they were originally taught about active shooter safety was wrong. another teacher experienced what it's like to stare down the barrel as a victim. one-on-one is very helpful and very important to all of us," said ken kunickis of laurens, iowa. both candidates say it's time to get serious and cast that vote on february 1st. >> ben carson says it will be with a "heavy heart" that he resumes his presidential campaign thursday.. following the death of a 25- year old volunteer. carson wrote on facebook that he'll be "filled with the inspiration" of braden joplin's life story when he returns to the campaign trail in iowa. joplin was a texas tech student killed tuesday when a van carrying four carson staff members flipped on any icy patch of road in cass county, iowa .. and was rammed by another vehicle. the candidate immediately stopped campaigning and flew from south carolina to omaha, nebraska.. where joplin was rushed to a trauma center. the other three passengers in the carson van were released from the hospital yesterday. iowa representativ e steve king had strong words for branstad and his call to defeat cruz. king said yesterday, the governor's comments were potentially dangerous for the future of the iowa caucuses.

"what presidential candidate is going to come to iowa and run if they have to fear that the governor is going to come out and campaign directly against him and yet still not come out and ask iowans this is who i'm for," said congressman steve king. king accused branstad of listening to his son, who works in the bio-fuels industry. iowa's u.s. senator charles grassley has set a record among the country's lawmakers. the 35-year veteran of the senate has gone the longest, out of any other missing a single vote. grassley has not missed a vote in 22 years, six months, and six days, according to roll call, a political watchdog website. during that time he's cast more than 75-hundred 'yeas' and 'nays.' grassley sayeven though you

an arkansas community is showering one family with love as they watch their two-year-old daughter battle thanks to that support, they're finding hope along the way. joseph holloway shares their story in healthbeat 4.

"the next day, took her to the doctor because she had been a little sickly. um, they ran some blood work and that evening, we were on a helicopter flight to children's hospital." on october 28-th, hayden was diagnosed with leukemia. wall street is drowning in oil. stocks are having their worst start to a year in history in part because of a rapid plunge in the price of oil. the price of crude is down 28 percent this year already, which in turn has dragged down energy company shares. yesterday, stocks recovered much of an early plunge. the dow fell 249 points closing at 15,767. the nasdaq slipped five and the s&p lost 22 points. u.s. stock indexes are down 10 percent or more since the beginning of the year. 2015 proved to be the comeback year for toys.

fire damaged a norfolk, nebraska home early this morning. firefighters were called to a house fire on the 600-block of walnut avenue at about 2:45. the house is about a half- block west of norfolk high school. when crews arrived, smoke and flames were coming from the back of the house. those inside made it out safely. it took firefighters about an hour to get the blaze under control. the fire was caused by the fail of an electrical circuit in the home. frustrations continue to spill over in flint, michigan as the city continues to deal with its' contaminated water supply.. yesterday, water donated by the entertainer cher was delivered to the 100- thousand or more who still are unable to use tap water.. michigan's governor has promised answers.. and action -- as federal and state criminal investigations continue.. jay gray has the latest..
