walking this morning. the dakota county sheriff identifies the victim as pablito perea- ybarra. he was struck by a car in the 15-hundred block of atokad drive around seven 'o clock this morning. he died at the scene. sheriff chris kleinberg says the accident is under investigation with assistance from the nebraska state patrol. the search continues today for a man who robbed a norfolk, nebraska hotel at gunpoint, prompting a lockdown of local schools on wednesday. the robbery happened at the hampton inn late in the morning. the suspect fled on foot. as a precaution, several area schools chose to go into lockdown mode, including all elementary schools and the junior high and middle schools. the teenager known for his "affluenza" defense has been brought back to texas, after a month-long stay in mexico. 18-year old ethan couch arrived late this morning at dallas-fort worth airport aboard a commercial flight in handcuffs and with a police escort. the texan teen and his mother

the subjects of an international manhunt after he missed a mandatory check-in probation. they were both arrested in puerto vallarta, mexico, on december 28 and were transferred couch was put on probation after killing four people in a drunk driving accident in 2013. the jailed leader of an armed group that's been occupying an oregon wildlife refuge is urging remaining militants to site and "go home." ammon bundy's plea for an end to the occupation came a day after he and several followers were arrested on federal charges. reid binion reports.

it was 30 years ago this morning that the nation was stunned with the space shuttle challenger tragedy. today, nasa is marking the sad anniversary with a day of remembrance. the families of the seven astronauts lost gathered at cape canaveral to mark the anniversary. today's events also include memorials for the three apollo-one astronauts who died in a space capsule fire during a test on the launchpad in 1967.. and the seven space shuttle columbia astronauts who died in 2003. a hit in a hockey game last night in canada is raising a lot of eyebrows today. and it wasn't a hit on a player, but on a referee. second period between the flames and nashville predators... that's when calgary defenseman dennis wideman decides, for some reason, to cross- check linesman don henderson viciously into the boards. players from both sides look shocked at the hit. henderson got up soon after, looking dazed, understandably...but he did

here's a live look at west lake okoboji from our okoboji skycam... a world war two veteran from new york state is finally getting some long-overdue recognition for his service. he's received several medals that he should have gotten decades ago, including one of the highest honors that can be bestowed on a soldier... the bronze star. kumi tucker reports.
