commercial ever. sioux city police have scheduled a news conference two hours from now to release more information about a shooting that wounded an officer early sunday morning. police say the offer was shot in the leg while investigating several reports of robberies and burglaries througout sioux city. it happened about 3:30 a-m at valley park apartments in the 29-hundred block of park avenue. the officer, who's name has not been released, was treated and released from the hospital. police say the suspect, 18- year old isaiah mothershed shot and wounded himself after shooting the ofofcer. moththshed was arrested.

police last summer, he was accused of kidnapping and assualting two men over a drug debt. the news conference is at two o' clock this afternoon at police headquarters. we'll stream it live at our website, ktiv-dot-com. two men were killed and four other people wounded when gunfire broke out after a mardi gras parade in pass christian, mississippi on sunday. a woman who lives nearby says she heard d out 12 shots ring out as people were leaving the parade area. no suspects have been named. an investigation is underway. pass christian's mardi gras parade is among the largest on the mississippi gulf coast, drawing thousands of people from around the region. an 11-year-old boy in tennessee has been convicted of murder in the death of an eight-year-old girl. prosecutors ay the boy shot the girl because she refused to show was playing with her friends in her mobile home park when the 11-year-old boy asked to see her two dogs. dyer laughed and told him no. that's when the boy pulled out a 12-gauge shotgun and

little girl. he's been found guilty of first degree murder and sentenced to state custody until he turns 19. at least four people, including an eight-year-old girl, were rescued today from a high-rise taiwanane apaptment building toppled by a powerful earthquake over the weekend. rescuers pulled the girl, who out of the rubble more than 60 quake hit. a woman found with the girl, who is thought to be her aunt, was also rescued 20 minutes later. the official death toll from saturday's six-point-four magnitude quake has risen to 38, with more than 100 people missing. a family of six was killed in a landslide in southern china early this morning. the family's house was crushed in the landslide. other houses nearby were damaged. a rescue team rushed to the site with specially trained search dogs and excavators and recovered six bodies from under the rubble. the cause of the landslide is under investigation.
