hidden inside the couch and shot officer ryan moritz in the leg. during the struggle, police said mothershed shot himself in his own thigh. su "18-year-old isaiah mothershed was released from the hospital wednesday and booked into the woodbury county jail. he's been charged with two counts of attempted murder andndive counts of first degree robbery." thursday, mothershed made his initial appearance in court at the woodbury county law enforcement center. while answering judge todd hensley's questions, mothershed can be seen keeping his head down the entire time. the two charges of attempted murder include the night mothershed shot moritz as well as an incident two days before. on februruy 5th, police say mothershed and three others used a crowbar to eer a residence at 4538 polk street in sioux city where he fired a shot at one of the homeowners as she chased after him. mothershed's preliminary hearing will be on february 19th. in sioux city, tiffany lane, ktiv news 4.>> mothershed's bond has been set

police say mothershed didn't live in the apartmtmt where officer moritz washot. two of the other suspects arrested that night, justin ferguson and jordyn delfs, wereiving there at the time. the last four occupiers of a national wildlife refuge in oregon surrendered thursday. the holdouts were the last of a group that seized the malheur national refuge on january second. the occupiers were demanding the government turn over ththland to locals and to release t t ranchers imprisoned for arson. the group had been surrounded by armored vehicl on wednesday and escorted by f-b-i agents off of the property. at least 12 occupiers were arrested last week - including leader ammon bundy. concerns over water quality have risen, nationwide, as the water crisis in michigan, escalates. the high levels of lead found in flint water has started raising questions about water quality here in siouxland. but,t,he water and sewer director for the city of norfolk, nebraska, says that's not an issue for his community. "being in season the panic-mode kind of hits as a coach you're running your mind on how long this is going to be down, where am i going to practice for the next week, weeks, months, whatever it would have been," said briar cliff f university headrack coach, nate treinen. worldwide air structure assistance, or wasa, were flown out from canada to get it back up. a u.s. magistrate from sioux city has been approved to serve as a judge on one of iowa's federal courts. senator chuck grassley announced that the u.s. senate unanimously approved the nomination of leonard strand, of sioux city. he will serve as a u.s. district judge for the northehe district of iowa. president barck obama nominated strand in june to replace u.s. district judge mark bennett. the nomination will go back to

president for final approval. strand graduated from the university of iowa law school in 1990 anhad a private practice before becoming a magistrate in 2012. iowa utilities regulators met for the fourth day yestery to try and make a decicion on the bakken oilil pipeline. a texas company wants to bury 346 mileleof crude oil pipe under iowa farmland. the iowa utilities board is also considering whether to give the company, dakota access, the authority to force landowners to sign easements using eminent domain. the three-member board is also deciding on a hazardous pipeline permit for the bakken pipeline. environmental and property oppose it. supporters say it's the safest way to transport oil, and it will creaea jobs. imate change continunu to be a sore subject in the political world, and it's association to global warming. on tuesday the u.s. supreme court dealt president barack obama a blow by moving to temporarily block his administration's rules to limit greenhouse gas emissions

"our elementnty enrollment is reallylyear capacity at that building so a preschool/kinderga rten facility will certainly help alleviate some of the

students that go to school there," said mark lenihan, wayne community schools superintendent. a bulk of the cost of the project would be the junior and senior high school additions. if it gets approved, lenihan says they're estimating property taxes would increase about $120 annuauay per $100,000 valuation of your home. a decent percentage of those paying are farmers, who aren't certain they want to pay more money. two of the other suspects arrested that night, justin ferguson and jordyn delfs, lived there. the last four occupiers of a national wildlife refuge in oregon surrendered thursday. the holdouts were the last of a group that seized the malheur national refuge on january second. the occupiers were demanding the government turn over the land to locals and to release two ranchers imprisoned for arson. the group had been surrounded by armored vehicles on wednesday and escorted by f-b-i agents off of the property. at least 12 occupiers were arrested last week - including leader ammon bundy. concerns over water quality have risen nationwide as the water r crisis in michigan escalates. the high levels of lead found in flint water hah started raising questions about water quality here in siouxland. but, the water and sewer director for the city of norfolk, nebraska, says that's not an issue for his community. "and, our other daughter, elizabeth, was stillborn."
