danger to the rest of the campus. it happened this morning at independence high school. a glendale officer told reporters she doesn't know whether the victims are students and she did not discuss the conditions of the teens. she didn't say who fired the shots but said there is no active shooter situation now. the school is on lockdown. authorities say a machete attack at an ohio restaurant left one of the four victims with critical injuries. the suspect was fatally shot by police after fleeing. the attack happened last night at a mediterranea n restaurant in columbus. witnesses described what happened as "carnage" and a "systematic attack". police say they tried to use a stun gun on the suspect, who was holding the machete and a knife, but they shot him when he lunged at them. it's unclear what motivated the attack. the world health organization says it could be at least another year and a-half before there are large-scale trials on a possible zika vaccine. the w-h-o assistant director- general for

told reporters in geneva today that the u-n health agency's response is "evolving very rapidly." 15 companies have been identified as possible participants in the search for a vaccine. the zika outbreak has been spreading rapidly across latin america. it's been linked to birth defects in children. dr. marie-paule kieny/ who assistant director-general for health systems and innovations "there is a prospective who are pregnant and have been infected, are the outcome of the pregnancy is being looked at. so, in a few weeks or months we will see how many of these women deliver a child with microcephaly. and this will make the things much clearer." meanwhile, ioc president thomas bach says there is "no intention" by any countries to pull out of the olympics in rio de janeiro over concerns about the mosquito- borne virus. bach says he has "full confidence" that brazilian authorities and global health organizations will take the proper steps to combat the outbreak.

a big chill was in the air between hillary clinton and bernie sanders during last night's democratic debate -- their first since sanders' big win in new hampshire. clinton turning to new lines of attack to try and slow her rival's momentum... accusing sanders of disloyalty to president obama - who is hugely popular with minority voters in nevada and south carolina, the next states to vote. here's nbc's andrea mitchell.

outlined the plans, which include a new gymnasium and performing arts center for the junior and senior high schools. plus a new preschool students. "our elementary enrollment is really near capacity at that building so a preschool/kinderga rten facility will certainly help alleviate some of the students that go to school there," said mark lenihan, wayne superintendent. lenihan estimates it would cost homeowners an extra 120-dollars per year per 100-thousand dollar property valuation. school officials would like to put the issue to a vote in may. for that to happen, it needs to be approved by the school board within two weeks. when nebraska voters go to the november they may decide if casinos can move into the state. three pro-gambling petitions are state. the group spearheading the push for casinos is called "keep the money in nebraska." they say creating those casinos will help

state and stop it from going over the border to places like iowa. but not everyone is on board. pat loontjer- exec dir. gambling with the good life "it will stay here in nebraska but it will go to the casinos so you might as well put it a rate hole." scott lautenbaugh, keep the money in nebraska "that's just false the revenue would go back to the state for them to provide either property tax relief or spend on education so we will have other tax revenue so it provides tax revenue." the petitions began circulating in october. supporters have until july to get enough signatures to put casinos on the november ballot. time is a precious thing. no one knows that better than stillborn. you can't hold that baby enough, take enough pictures, take enough time, before they're gone forever. but, sometimes, out of tragedy, some good may come. ktiv's matt breen shows us how one family is helping others deal with the pain of losing a child.

"we were expecting twins..." one month before their due date, jeremy and lisa cotter had a regular appointment with their ob. the doctor blindsided them with news no parent wants to hear. "...and we found out that one of the twins did not have a heartbeat," lisa cotter said. with little time to grieve, lisa was prepped for surgery. "we had an emergency c- section, and we delivered our daughter, evelynne, healthy," lisa cotter said. "and, our other daughter, elizabeth, was stillborn." "the rest of the day was like a bad dream," said jeremy cotter, father. a dream the family couldn't wake up from... forced to celebrate life, and grieve death, at the same time. "we would have to ask a nurse to go and get our daughter's body from

were keeping her cooled," jeremy cotter said. precious time for a grieving family. but, that grief led to an act of generosity. last month, the cotters started fundraising for what's called a "cuddle cot." made in the uk, the device allows a child's body to be cooled, at a mother's bedside, preserving the body so it won't decompose. "we would not have had to send her back to the morgue... every time we were visiting with her," lisa cotter said. the cotters hope they can help other families, dealing with a loss, by donating a "cuddle cot" to unitypoint health- st. luke's, in sioux to have her with us whenever we wanted to see her," jeremy cotter said. mercy medical center already has cotters hope, one day, they'll be available to every grieving family in their

nebraska meatpackers can start raising their own hogs and controlling them from birth to slaughter. governor pete ricketts has signed into a law a measure passed by the legislature that ends the nation's only ban on meatpackers owning hogs. business and farming groups say the measure will help nebraska's hog industry, which has grown slower than in other states. opponents have said the bill would give meatpackers too much leverage over farmers and make it harder for farmers who don't contract with big

anderson, joan thanks so much for being here. thanks for having me. this ag conference get bigger and better every year. you have a ton of events planned. it's tuesday february 16th, what do you have going on? basically it's a whole day geared towards farmers or anybody in the community that wants to see anything about agriculture or the retailers who sell all the equipment or the products or whatever has to do with agriculture. a lot of those businesses and companies will be there to promote their companies. doors open at 8, and you have several speakers coming in throughout the day? we have david cruz who works for comstock investments, bill northy who's the secretary of ag in iowa, and jerry carrol who is a farmer and a comedian. a wide range of topics. there's going to be a lot of new technology and things that famers actually care about and want to know about too. different agronomy companies will have booths there, companies with their machinery will come, new combines will be there, pretty much anything a farmer would find useful in his job will be there. what's the goal for the conference? it's a really fun
