friday and saturday before easing back a bit early next week. see graphics. wx timer @ :40 >> the body of supreme court justice antonin scalia has arrived back home in virginia. justice antonin scalia's body arrived at dulles airport late sunday night... and was loaded onto a hearse. earlier on sunday, a procession of about 20 police officers brought the body to an el paso funeral home from the west texas ranch where scalia was found dead on saturday. officials were awaiting word about whether the medical examiner would perform an autopsy, but it was deemed unnecessary. it is believed the 79-year- old scalia died of natural causes. scalia was appointed by president ronald reagan in 19-86 and has been the senior member of the court for several years. authorities say an apartment fire that forced residents to temporarily evacuate saturday, was caused by a child playing with matches. the fire came from an apartment on the fourth floor of castle on the hill apartments according to sioux city fire rescue that's in the 600-block of 13th street in sioux city. an infant was sent to the hospital as a precautionary measure but is said to be doing

"the fire alarms went off and usually we don't pay attention of false alarms. but this morning the alarms check and see and there was smoke everywhere and there was water coming from the ceiling so i knew there must have been a fire upstairs," said sherri duet, castle apartment resident. all residents have been allowed back into the building. officials said the case is being ruled an accident and that no criminal charges will be filed. authorities shut down a rental car facility near the albuquerque international sunport sunday after an explosive device was found under a car. police say the car was returned overnight and when a mechanic put it on the lift as part of reinspection protocol, he saw the device. the building was evacuated and customers were sent to a nearby dirt lot to wait for their vehicles. police say the item was determined to be an explosive but was deemed safe, and the rental car facility was reopened. they say the a-t-f and f-b-i

there. forty-eight people were rescued from two stranded tram cars in new hampshire yesterday. officials say the cars became stranded on the cannon mountain aerial tramway... some 40 feet off the ground. forty-one people were on board the lower car... and seven people were in the top car. all of the of the people safely rappelled down from the tram. officials believe a brake issue caused the tram to get stranded. an investigation into the incident is underway. cannon mountain ski officials handed out vouchers to everyone affected. brazil is using more than 200-thousand military personnel to educate the public about fighting the mosquito that spreads the zika virus. troops have fanned out across brazil to show people how to eliminate the bug that carries the virus. the nationwide offensive is part of president dilma rousseff's declared war on the virus that has quickly spread across the americas. the troops were expected to visit three- million homes in 350 cities to

pope francis celebrated mass for hundreds of thousands in a crime-ridden suburb of mexico city. the pope told mexicans that there can be "no dialogue with the devil." speaking out against the drug trade and associated violence is a central theme of the pope's visit to mexico. francis also kissed and blessed dozens of sick children at a pediatric hospital. the sioux city art center celebrates youth art month with their 27th annual youth art exhibition. the art center received more than 400 art entries from 21 siouxland high schools. a selection committee chose just 61 pieces to be displayed in the annual exhibit. the winners were honored yesterday afternoon. the youth art exhibit will remain until april 10. the sioux city mayor's youth commission is now accepting applications for its young ambassadors program. the program is open to all students grades 4th through 7th. the student must be enrolled in a sioux city public or parochial school, or home schooled in sioux city. student nominations should

iowa lost its second big ten game on thursday, falling to indiana. that loss put the hawkeyes in a three-way tie for the conference lead with the hoosiers and maryland - but iowa has already lost to both of those teams. iowa, back at home to face minnesota, who's 0-and-12 in league play. this one - big for the conference standings - more on that later. iowa had to focus on minnesota - just a one-point game late in the first half - jarrod uthoff - holy smokes - iowa up 6 at the break. second half - peter jok heats up - from distance - 27 points for jok. but minnesota brought it tonight - nate mason - nice drive and reverse. then, gophers down 6 with under 4 to play - they feed jordan murphy for the dunk - this was just a two point game late. but the gophers went cold - the hawkeyes did not - jok on the three, then uthoff scores inside. it wasn't pretty - but iowa does win it at home, 75-to-71. this is why tonight's win was important - it puts iowa back atop the conference standings - all by themselves. maryland and indiana

every year the sioux city bandits get up, bright and early on a saturday and get their yearly physical. this year physicans from the tri-state specialists and mercy singing hills stepped-in to make sure players are ready to step out on the field. the head coach says with a limited roster..it's important to have everyone ready to go. "we need these guys as healthy as can be. so it's very important for us to know going into camp these guys are healthy and available for us," said erv strohbeen, sioux city pressure to making sure their joints are in the right motion. doctors at the physicians clinic are preping the players to be game ready," said michelle schoening siouxland's news channel. doctors say the physicals are all about avoiding injuries during the season. "we try to identify findings that could give us a clue in either bracing or preventative measures that we can do like taping around the ankle that may aid in

"it's hard to know there is help but we just can't get it," said tina cobbs. when noah was five, he was able to receive applied behavior analysis treatment. but noah has since aged out of a grant which paid for that treatment. "it's recommended by the surgeon general, the cdc, the american academy of pediatrics. what it that does is help he gain and acquire new skills and help in reduce self- injurious behavior," said josh cobbs, parent of child with autism. a proposed bill in the iowa legislature would require all insurance companies to cover the diagnosis and treatment plan for

current state employees get coverage through state insurance companies for autism treatment for 29-cents per member per month. a co-sponsor of the bill says it's all about providing equal coverage for iowa families. "expanding to allow everyone that type of coverage it would just be a matter of fairness," said rep. dave dawson. cobbs says they aren't asking for advanced coverage, just adequate coverage. "people will continue to ask, well why do you do this? they won't cover them unless we do. they won't cover families like ours unless the state takes action to make sure it happens," said josh cobbs. in sioux city, michelle schoening ktiv news four. >> 43 states have passed similar legislation. the bill has moved forward in the senate through the sub- committees. the house has until friday to move the bill forward to keep it alive. students at sioux city's west high brought their philanthropic efforts to life on saturday night. the student council organized a "pink out" night during the boys and girls basketball doubleheader. area businesses pitched in to sponsor a silent auction and specially made t-shirts were also sold. many in the crowd doned the rosey color. all of the funds raised will go to susan g. komen for the cure. planning took a month but students says they were happy with the event they organized. apple is entering the original t-v series business. and hip-hop legend doctor dre will star in the company's first original scripted television series. siouxland this monday morning. there's a push in the iowa legislature to guarantee insurance coverage for families affected by autism. it's an important cause to tina and josh cobbs of sioux city. their 15-year old son, noah, has autism. when he was five, he was able to receive treatment. but he has since aged out of the grant that paid for it. democratic representativ e dave dawson of sioux city is co-sponsor of a bill that would require all insurance companies to cover the diagnosis and treatment plan for people under age 22 with autism.

prompted evacuation of sioux city's castle on the hill saturday was started by a child playing with matches. the fire came from an apartment on the fourth floor and forced residents out into the frigid temperatures around 10:30 saturday morning. there were no injuries, but an as a precaution. people were seeing a lot of pink at the west high school gym this the student council organized a "pink out" night as a way to raise funds cure." specially made t-shirts were contributed items for a silent auction. the event raised $1,500. february is youth art month and works by young siouxland artists are on display at the sioux city art center. the art center received more than 400 entries from 21 siouxland high schools. a selection committee chose 61 pieces to be displayed in the 27th annual youth art exhibition. they'll remain on display until april 10th.
