a passenger plane bound for new york returned to london sunday after a laser was beamed into the cockpit. virgin atlantic airlines said in a statement today the flight crew decided to return to heathrow airport rather than continue the trans-atlantic crossing. british police didn't immediately provide any more details on the incident. no arrests have been made. flying the friendly skies is now the safest its been in five years. the international air transport association reports airline accidents dropped significantly last year. there were four accidental airline crashes in 2015 with 136- deaths. the year before, 641 people died in airline accidents. most aircraft accidents are non-fatal. the i-a-t-a said there were 68 total accidents last year, compared to 77 the year before. there's a push in the iowa legislature to guarantee health insurance coverage for families affected by autism. ktiv's michelle schoening introduces us to a siouxland
