leu, whohowas in missoori for military traiing, says he was nevee notified of the investigation. "i called the fbi and said what's going on? i need to know information it's an officer safety thing. i don't care who wants to do a search in fonda but it's dangerous not to let the locals know," said leu. in an interview with the pilot tribune, lampe says leu's part-time officer was notified of the investigation. in that same interview lampe says the entire conflict stems from a questionn of leuutepping outside of is jurisdiction back in 2014. "his issue with my practice was--i would hear a call it may be domestic but i would start driving toward the call...that's it," said alex leu. leu says he has two voicemails from lampe that he has no intention in listening to. leu adds he will work with lampe as a professional but says he will not accept an apology. >> in the newspaper interview lampe admits to "blowing up" at leu on the phone.

comment, but he said he couldn't comment because of possible litigation. fonda mayor don wolf said in a statement that the county needs to work together with alalof its agencies. the mayor says public safety comes first. new developments in the case of a sioux city man accused of shooting a police officer and taking part in a string of recent robberies. isaiah mothershed's lawyer says wants his client's trial moved. court documents, momoershed's attorney, matthew metzgar, calls comments made by sioux city police chief doug young, and woodbury county attorney p.j. jennings, "prejudicial". metzgar says the comments were published in the sioux city journal, last week. metzgar says the "adverse publicity" that those comments generated would make it hard for his clilit to get a fair trial. the 18-year-old mothershed i charged with two counts of attempted murder after, police say, he shot officer ryan moritz during an incident at the valley park apartments on february 7th. mothershed is also charged with five counts of first-degree robbery in incidents dating back to december 7th, 2015.

cliven bundy is scheduled to appear in court today. bundy will answer to the charges brought against him from an armed confrontation in 2014 that forced federal officials to release cattle being rounded up near his rarah in nevada. bundy is the first to face charges in what some advocates hailed as a victory in the fight to turn over federal land to state control. more recently cliven bundy's son ammon bundy staged an armed sit in on federal land in oregon for the same issue. ammon's bundy's occupation of e malheur national wildlife refuge lasted for more than a month. a hearing on the sinking of the el faro will take place today. the united states coast guard is conducting the hearing in jacksonville, florida. this is the first of two sessions the coast guard will conduct. they are expected to focus on the evenen that d up to the sinking of the ship such as biographies on crew members and previous voyages the el faro made as well as the coast guard's search and rescue efforts. a second hearing, which hasn't been scheduled yet

tragic voyage itself that took the lives of all 33 people onboard. data released by the state of michigan says high levels of lead are still being detected in tap water in some flint-area homes. more than 250 tests done this month have shown lead levels above the federal limit ... including dozens of tests conducted just laststeek. the country's top doccr is in flint today as the leader of the n-a-a-c-p threatens protests if action does not come soon. cnn's kim hutcherson reports:

almost a year, we're all kind of, there were six of us in two office spaces," said lisa koch, denison city clerk. a new elevator also takes people from the basement to the top of the building, offering easier access. there is also a new hvac system that will handle summer heat, and winter's chill. a new plan to privatize medicaid in iowa has left thousands of iowans with unanswered questions. former iowa governororchet culver, visited the siouxland centnt for active generations in sioux city, yesterday afternoon, to address those questions. several dozen siouxlanders were in attendance to better understand the new plan for the state to privatize medicaid. governor culver is leading the charge for advocates for iowa medicaid, or aim. the group aims to provide a clear voice fofoiowans. "we're really building a ststewide coallition of f advocates, providers, beneficiaries, people that are directly impacted by iowa's medicaid system everyday." said culver. "it's a broad cross- section of iowans that are representing more than a half million people on medicaid and we just want to make sure their voices are heard." approximately 560 thousand iowans currently rely on medicaid for their healthcare needs.

google has announced it is shutting down its free online editing service picasa. google says it wants to place its emphasis on just one photo service - google photos. the search giant says after march 15th the company will no longer support the picasa desktop application. however, people who have downloaded the software can continue using it, but google won't provide more updates. picasa users will be able to access all their photos in picasa web albums through google photos. apple music is quickly gaining on its biggest rival, spotify. apple now has 11 million subscribers which is more than half of spotify's 20 million subscribers who pay around 10 dollars a month for unlimited digital music. apple has collected the subscribers in less than a year while spotify has been in eration since 2011. other streaming services such as tidal and google have found it difficult to get a foothold in the streaming music subscription business. and pandora announced its

vermillion police are investigating a report of vandalism at a fraternity house at the university of south dakota. the university says someone spray painted the words "we date rape" on the side of the phi delta theta fraternity house. school and law enforcement authorities say it's unclear why the fraternity was vandalized, because there have been no assaults reported. fraternity members have been since washed off most of the paint. the man behind gateway computer company came home to share his insight with young entrepreneurs in sioux city. ted waitt kicked off the the sixth annual "entrepalooza" with a keynote address to a crowd of 200 last night. waitt and partner mike hammond turned a 10- thousand dollar loan into a fortune 500 company. waitt says he always advises people to start when they're young. he says when he started gateway, he didn't have kids, didn't have a mortgage to pay, there was no risk, nothing to lose. the worst thing that could have happened, he says, was he would get a job. nebraska senator deb fischer says her constituents are tuned

county sheriff bob lampe. lampe confirmed that fact to the storm lake pilot tribune newspaper. on the other end of the line, recording the entire conversation, is fonda, iowa, police chief alex leu. leu released a short segment of the call to the media. leu says lampe's accusation is false. "i can promise you 100% there is no truth to that allegation," said leu. the heated phone conversation, which was recorded on friday, january 29th, stems from a fbi investigation, in fonda, in late january. the fbi was searching for a couple of murder suspects, from wisconsin, who were believed to be in the area. leu, who was in missouri for military training, says he was never notified of the investigation. his trial moved in court documents, isaiah mothershed's attorney, matthew metzgar, calls comments made by sioux city police chief doug young, and woodbury county attorney p.j. jennings, "prejudicial". the comments were published in the sioux city journal, last week. metzgar says the "adverse publicity" that those comments generated would make it hard for his client to get a fair trial. the 18-year-old mothershed is charged with two counts of attempted murder after, police say, he shot officer ryan moritz during an incident at the valley park apartments on february 7th. mothershed is also charged with five counts of first-degree robbery in incidents dating back to december 7th, 2015. activist and cattle rancher cliven bundy is scheduled to appear in court today. bundy will answer to the charges brought against him from an armed confrontation in 2014 that forced federal officials to release cattle being rounded up near his ranch in nevada. bundy is the first to face charges in what some advocates hailed as a victory in the fight to turn over federal land to state control.

ammon bundy staged an armed sit in on federal land in oregon for the same issue. ammon's bundy's occupation of the malheur national wildlife refuge lasted for more than a month. a hearing on the sinking of the el faro will take place today. the united states coast guard is conducting the hearing in jacksonville, florida. this is the first of two sessions the coast guard will conduct. they are expected to focus on the events that led up to the sinking of the ship such as biographies on crew members and previous voyages the el faro made as well as the coast guard's search and rescue efforts. a second hearing, which hasn't been scheduled yet is expected to focus on the tragic voyage itself that took the lives of all 33 people onboard. a restaurant in columbus, ohio reopened its doors.... days after a violent machete attack left several people injured at the eatery. the healing process has just begun for the ones connected to nazareth restaurant and deli. a large number of people stopped by the restaurant after it opened its doors yesterday.

constructed in 1895," said denison city manager terry crawford. it's a project that's been in the works for about a year, and is a few months from completion. city manager terry crawford has pushed for the renovations. su "one of the appeals of the project is that it keeps the historical preservation of the original building, crawford says." "i could show you the cupolas that have been installed already on the exterior, the south one here next to what we hope to have a bell tower in the future," said crawford. "it's not a part of this contract." but, the exterior of city hall isn't the only part that will look different. before the project, the top floor of the building was only used for storage. the top floor has been transformed to include the city council chambers, an employe lounge, and a small room for storage. "it's just nice to be able to have an office again, when we were at our temporary location, which was almost a year, we're all kind of, there were six of us in two office spaces," said lisa koch, denison city clerk. a new elevator also takes people from the basement to the top of the building, offering easier access. there is also a new hvac system that will handle summer heat,

"we're really building a statewide coallition of advocates, providers, beneficiaries, people that are directly impacted by iowa's medicaid system everyday." said culver. polar bear as they plunged into the atlantic ocean over the weekend. more than two-thousand brave souls courageously jumped into the ocean as part of the 22nd annual sea isle city polar bear plunge. hundreds of other people braved the 20-degree temperatures and arctic freeze to watch the spectacle. the plunge is a fundraiser for the sea isle city chamber of commerce and revitalization. city officials say the entire polar weekend of events draws in about 30- thousand visitors each year.

lampe is adding fuel to a feud that dates back two years. in the call, part of which leu recorded and released to the media, lampe says to him, quote--"as long as you are running for sheriff you ought to know this: everyone is going to know that you knocked up a 15-year old and she had a miscarriage." leu says lampe's accusation is false. sheriff lampe told the storm lake pilot tribune the conflict stems from a question of leu stepping outside his jurisdiction in 2014. lampe declined comment to ktiv, citing possible litigation. vermillion police are investigating a report of vandalism at a fraternity house at the university of south dakota. the university says someone spray painted the words "we date rape" on the side of the phi delta theta fraternity house. school and law enforcement authorities say it's unclear why the fraternity was vandalized, because there have been no assaults reported. fraternity members have been since washed off most of the paint. the man behind gateway computer
