"he's an amazing guy," said verna hoffman, mace's daughter. "he helped everybody. i'm pretty sure he

this is wrong." sioux city police say the stabbing happened during a fight. wanatee, has an extensive criminal record. he served more than 20- years in prison for the murder of a man outside of a sioux city bar in 1990 in 2014, wanatee was wanted by the u.s. marshal service for violating his parole for 2nd-degree murder. then in october of last year, wantatee was charged with assualt while displaying a dangerous weapon. he was accused of pulling out a machete-type knife during a disturbance at the super wal-mart on floyd boulevard in sioux city. a man wanted for attempted murder in sac county, iowa, has been captured. des moines t-v station, kcci- tv, says officers with the fort dodge police department got a tip that 36-year-old jeremy werenburg was at the wal-mart store e fort dodge, this afternoon. the first officer on the scene tried to handcuff werneburg, but the suspect fought back. the officer suffered a knee

his taser to control werneburg. werneburg has been on the run since sunday night. that's when an eyewitness says werneburg intentionally hit kyle free with his car outside the carnarvon inn in tiny carnarvon, iowa. freese is in stable condition in a des moines hospital. a sergeant bluff man will spend 60 days in jail for head-butting his 13-year-old son. 48-year-old bradady graff was also ordered to pay 410 dollars in restitution. graff pleaded guilty to child endangerment. court documents say the incident occured while graff was practicing wrestling iwth his 11 and 13-year-old sons. documents say the 13- year-old asked to stop, but graff threw him onto a mat several times and head-butted him. (matt) for the first time, it would be legal to manufacture and dispense cannabis oil in iowa, under a compromised bill crafted by lawmakers at the iowa statehouse. (sheila) the compromise would also mean more iowans could get access to the drug. under the bill, cannabis oil could be used to treat people with multiple sclerosis and cancer with a limited life expectancy, as well as, some forms of epilepsy, as now allowed. legislators changed the bill to remove the use of thth oil for several othehe conditions. the bill still prohibits smoking the drug. the legislation now heads to the full house for debate. guppy fish are being used in the fight against zika in brazil. municipal health authorities in brazil are using a biological control-- in the form the guy fish-- to try to control the spread of the mosquito carrying the zika virus. the guppies consume the larva of mosquitoes that transmit zika, it stems their growth in pools of stagnant water.
