weather reaching the 60s out in o'neill and the 40s and 50 for most of the rest of us. even more warming will be coming our way on friday but it will be at the expense of having to put up with very gusty winds. the cold front bringing that wind moves in tonight with only a small chance of a shower in northern siouxland. the wind could gust over 40 miles per hour tonight with gusts from 40 to 55 miles per hour during the day on friday and that's the reason for a wind advisory for most of the ktiv viewing area tonight and friday. holt county is under a high wind warning until noon on friday where they could see gusts between 50 and 60 miles per hour. (sheila) a man wanted for attempted murder in sac county, iowa, is in custody today. (matt) police in fort dodge got a tip that 36-year-old jeremy werneburg was coming to the local wal-mart to pick up a

they say werneburg resisted arrest and an officer suffered a knee injury during the scuffle. the officer used a taser to subdue werneburg. he had been on the run since sunday night when authorities say he intentionally ran a man down with his car outside this bar in carnarvon. that man, 33-year old kyle freese of glidden, iowa, suffered a severe leg injury and is hospitalized in des moines. the car used in the assault was found late last night in the k-mart parking lot in cheorkee. werneburg is being held in the webster county jail. the sac county sheriff's department turned to facebook to try and ktiv's tommie clark shows us how their job.

other driver was treated on scene. an aquatic weed may cause some problems for boats this coming spring. kuoo radio's steve schwaller is here to tell us more. steve? an aquatic weed that can literally choke off boat traffic on a lake made its presence known last spring and early summer on the north side of east lake okoboji. a possible resurgence of curly leaf pond weed this coming season has officials looking at possible ways to manage it so at leasassome boat traffic can get through. mike hawkins, a fisheries biologist with the iowa department of natural resources told the dickinson county board of supervisors tuesday one option is to treat the affected area with an aquatic herbicide. he estimated the cost of treating 65 acres of the lake at between $19,000 and $20,000. hawkins says t t treatment would need to be done annually in the spring, when the water temperature is between 50 and 60 degrees. hawkins says he wants to hear from stakeholders
