36-year-old jeremy werneburg was arrested in sac county, iowa on wednesday. he had been on the run since sunday night when authorities say he intentionally ran a man down with his car outside a bar in carnarvon. yesterday, he was transferred from webster county jail to sac county jail and appeared before a judge. werneberg was charged with attempted murder. werneburg does have other charges in webster county having to do with his arrest. his preliminary hearing is scheduled for the 26th. switching gears... president obama says he has plans to choose a replacement for supreme court justice antonin scalia, who passed away last weekend. however, some republicans say since president obama leaves office next year... the next president should pick the replacement. as a result... iowa senator chuck grassley will be a prominent figure in the debate because he is the chair of the senate judiciary committee... which is the first step in hearings for a supreme court nominee. dave price has more.
