a woman who eventually died at the hospital told first responders that her brother was the shooter. police confirm that all of those killed were related. the o'neill, nebraska man charged with stabbing his wife to death told investigators he did it because he thought she was having an affair. 37-year old eduardo quintero is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 37- year old guadalupe quintero saturday night in their o'neill home. investigators say they counted 34 stab wounds on her body. quintero told police he used a different knife to cut his own wrists. he was interviewed by a nebraska state patrol investigator on saturday at a hospital in o'neill. authorities are working to identify human remains found in a field near tilden, nebraska. hunters found the body on sunday. investigators say it apppears to have been there for months. the body has not been identified but is believed to be a male. investigators say there is no reason to suspect foul play at this time.

city's argosy riverboat casino will argue its case to the iowa court of appeals today. penn national gaming subsidiary "the belle of sioux city" is challening the iowa racing and gaming commission decision to grant a gambling license to the hard rock hotel & casino. penn national was one of three groups that submitted proposals for a land-based casino in woodbury county. previous rulings in the case have supported the i-r-g-c in this matter. ktiv's tommie clark will be at this afternoon's hearing in des moines and will bring us the details. iowa regulators say it'll be next month before they make a decision on the bakken pipeline. texas-based dakota access wants to bury 346 miles of pipe underground from the northwest corner of the state to the southeast corner. it would carry north dakota oil to a terminal in illinois. the chairwoman of the iowa utilities board says the three-member board plans to meet march 9th to consider the permit application. some environmental

sioux city officials have approved a plan by verizon to build a new cell tower in morningside, the tower will go up behind the 900 block of south rustin street. more than 30 neighbors had signed a petition arguing the tower would hurt their property values. the proposal was sent back to the board of adjustment. but city officials approved the plan on monday. of additional input from the neighbors, from verizon representatives and they decided not to rehear it," said sioux city council one resident says the value of about 80 homes in the area will be negatively impacted if the tower is built. some major damage to a 100-year-old bridge in central iowa. vanessa peng shows us how ice jams have done a number on the historic span.

(dave morlan, emergency management coordinator for boone county) "as that ice flow came down, it and hit the bridge. it actually tilted a couple of pile-ons." ice jams form in bends and shallow areas of rivers. large pieces of ice stick together on the river...creating a dam of ice. and like dams...ice jams keep water back. disc golf course in sioux city. it will be a nine-hole course for beginniners and be located in grandview park near the water towers. disc golf is like regular golf, but you use flying discs instead of golf balls and basekets instead of holes. total cost for the course is 45-hundred dollars. the mayor's youth commission has already raised all the money to build it. "not many high school students know about disc golf and they don't know 'oh there's a nice golf course at sertoma park', well this one--it's a beginner, anyone can do it," said tayvin scmoll mayor's youth commision councilman dan moore says approving this project was a no-brainer. "it's an awesome project," said sioux city councilmember dan moore. "they did the fundraising, they did the layout of the course and they took into account saturday in the park. it will be sioux city's 5th disc golf course. it will be built this spring. one of nebraska's largest farm groups wants to change a ballot proposal that would guarantee farming rights. and---healthy alternative to smoking.... or a gateway to addiction?

one of nebraska's largest farm groups says it wants to change a ballot proposal that would guarantee farming and ranching rights in the state constitution. the nebraska farm bureau federation says it will recommend that lawmakers place the "right to farm" measure in state statute rather than the constitution. if lawmakers approve, the measure would go on the november ballot for voters to approve or reject. a farm bureau lobbyist says the

stocks. there is a debate over e-cigarettes and it's heating up. a new study suggests this alternative to tobacco is a gateway to addiction. but some siouxland retailers argue that e- cigs can help people quit smoking. ktiv's tiffany lane reports. e-cigarettes...a trend that has become more and more popular over the last few years. but with them being so new, comes the question of how they affect your health. "my life's changed dramatically since since i've started vaping," said carlie long, a sioux city vape store owner."my health is considerably better. i look better. you know the- basically i became a non- smoker." carlie long started smoking

when he was 12-years-old. three years ago, he wanted to quit, and turned to e-cigarettes. "i've had a number of friends who have quit smoking through vaping and i just wanted to be a part of that," said long. eighteen months ago, long opened vape 712, a store that sells e- cigarettes. he says a majority of his customers are people who want to quit smoking. but, an american heart association study says that e- cigarettes should only be used as a last resort to quit smoking. the study says vaping can be a gateway to nicotine addiction. lisa crum, a manager at vi e-cig disagrees. "it really helped me to get off by weening myself off of the nicotine, which you have the ability to do when you're vaping," said crum. wonderful singing, the sets are beautiful, the costumes are great. it's going to be a really good family entertainment. i hadn't realized that it was that old, 1890. i've heard about it forever but i've never actually seen it. what is this musical about? it's about frederick who's the young lad who was supposed to be apprenticed to a pilot, and was apprenticed to pirates by mistake by the nurse maid, ruth. it tells the story of him and there's a confusion about his birth date, being born in a leap year which happens to be this coming sunday. it's a cool, zany way that he goes through his existence as a pirate. hi jinks ensue. what time period is it set? it's set in the 1890's, lots of bustle gowns and pirate costumes. it's during the time of queen victoria. great music too. beautiful music. it's free, that's the best news. it's at eppley auditorium. when and what time? it is february 26th, 27th,
