courtroom. tommie, whahacan you tell us? matt, a silent room waited to hear the plea agreement for the akron, iowa man accused of murder. jonathan neunaber told a judge what he did during the summer of 2014. in the hearing, which lasted about an hour, neunaber admitted to killing his mother, and described how he did it. neunaber says he striked his mother with a steel bar over forty times. he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, and an additional count of willful injury. when neunaber's sentenced, the judge could sentence him to up to 60-years in prison. he will likely also have to pay restitution of $150,000. neunaber explained what happened, to the judge today. "did esther neunaber die after your first strike of her with that pipe...after one strike...correct...no your honor." neunaber said he intended to cause serious injury to his

were intentional. tonight at 6, heararxactly what happened, explained from neunaber. and, hear the violent history of the case. thanks tommie. four people linked to a series of robberies in sioux city have pleaded not guilty. 16-year-old jamaal ferguson, 19-year-old justin ferguson, 20- year-old robert seaberry and 16-year-old austin bulizak have all pleaded not guilty. they have been charged with first-degree robbery related to the shooting of a sioux city police officer at a sioux city apartment complex on february 7th. theheuspect, 18-year-old isaiah mothershed, is charged with two cous attempted murder. mothershed is also charged with five counts of first-degree robbery in incidents dating back to december 7th, 2015. a laurens, iowa man accused of leading police on a high-speed chase around spencer, iowa faces a long list of charges. spencer police say they pulled 31-year old blaine stockwell over for a seatbelt violation sunday afternoon. as the officer approached stockwell's pickup, police say he fled the scene. police say stockwell led

through south spencer and eventually out into the county, where speeds topped 90 milil per hour. when the pickup went into a ditch, stockwell was quickly apprehended. he now faces 16 charges, including eluding, driving while barred, driving while revoked, driving while suspended and driving while cancelled, along with possession of meth. four students are hurt after a shooting at an ohio high school. police say a 14-year-old student opened fire inside the madison junior-senior high school cafeteria this morning. two students were shot and two others were hurt whililtrying to exit. all of their injuries are non-life threatening. the building and dropped the weapon but was taken into custody near school grounds. s/luke helton/student :10 "it was very scary to think there was someone out there, you know, who could've came and got us instead, but i'm just kind of thankful that i was safe." no word on how many students were in the cateria at the time of the shooting. police say they do have a motive but are not

a 90-year-old norfolk, nebraska woman has died of injuries she suffered in a car accident last week. marilee thorburn died at an omaha hospital on friday from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash last tuesday night, according to norfolk police. the crash happened at the intersection of queen city boulevard and benjamin avenue. police say say thornburn's car was struck in the intersection by a car driven by alai of norfolk. police say there were three people total in the two cars, all of whom were hospitalized. they also say thornburn was not wearing a seatbelt. the accident remains under investigation. a minnesota man is in custody afr police say he stole a semi from a lawton, iowa farm and the trouble started friday when 26-year-old ivie popplewell got into a scuffle with police in worthington, minnesota and fled. authorities say he had stolen a pizza ranch delivery van in sheldon, iowa earlier that morning. later,r,olice police say he took off in a semi he took from casey willer's farm near lawton. authorities caught up

nearly 300 miles away in ottawa, kansas. willer is still waiting to get his truck back. switching gears... looks like siouxland will see some snow tonight. here with more is chief meteorologist ron demers with our first look at the forecast at 5. winter weather advisory for northeast siouxland through early tuesday morning most of our highs today took place in the morning as colder air started moving in this afternoon in advance of oururext storm system. this system m going to bring light snow to siouxland thihievening and tonight t th some accumulations possible. sioux city will likely see an inch or two out of this with northeastern siouxland possibly getting in on 2 to 4 inches of snow which is the reason they are in a winter weather advisory through early tuesday morning. some lingering flurries could be with us early tuesday but we'll try to bring in just a little bit of clearing

orange city, iowa residents will head to the polls tomorrow to decide if their local fire the current station was built in 1973 and houses the trucks and gear. the orange city fire chief says the expansion is all about the voting polls will open from 7 a-m to 8 p-m at the ving waters church. south dakota governor dennis daugaard says he won't pursue an expansion of medicaid.

announcement after getting input policy revisions. daugaard says there are not enough days left in the legislative session for lawmakers to consider the plan and make thier decision. he says the state will continue to explore expanding medicaid in the future. iowa's republican governor is not quite making an endorsement. but terry branstad said today that chris christie's support of donald trump turned the tide of the g-o-p race. "this is going to increase the ability to see children in a more timely fashion," said lea greathouse, executive director of the mercy medical center foundation.
