true doctrine. huge challenge for the house church. >> why do you think that happened, todd? >> you have so many people coming to christ. it is a challenge to disciple them. it is a challenge to train them up in true doctrine. in many cases they don't have the study material. here is the basic building blocks of your faith. you have people drifting. they can easily be lured aside into one of those heretical teachings. >> i was recently in somalia, people are beheaded for having a bible. i don't think it is a place a lot of missionaries would want to go to to disciple. >> no, it is not. one of the huge challenges is

leadership development. how do we find those people and get them ready to be leaders of a small group and then of a larger group and oversea several small groups. how do we disciple them, train them, bring them along as leaders? that is a huge challenge in a place like somalia. you can't sign up for bible school classes. it is too dangerous. >> what can individuals do? >> i think one of the key things is pray. we need to pray for the church in restricted nations, for true doctrine to be taught. we can help provide satellite television broadcasts that are preaching true doctrine and training up leaders. we can help provide bibles so they can study the scripture and see what it says.

>> pope benedict just wrapped up a historic trip to cuba. president obama raul castro must decide whether to declare good friday a holiday. there will be no political reforms. >> the catholic faith celebrated the visit to cuba. it included an open air mass infront of thousands, private talk with president raul castro and the leader fidel castro. that lasted 30 minutes. the pope called on the cuban government to loosen

restrictions. distent groups were hoping for an audience with the 84-year-old pontiff. >> we are praying this visit from the holy father helped the cuban people move towards hope. >> archbishop is one of hundreds of americans that made it to cuba, just to witness the pope's visit. he traveled from miami, a cuban-american that hadn't been to the country in 50 years. >> whether they live in cuba or outside of cuba can look at the future and together see what we can do. >> this man is hanging on to hope. though the government signalled there would be no political reforms before the holy father departed wednesday.

>> the pope called on the u.s. to end its 50-year trade embargo against cuba. being a christian in cuba was an invitation to persecution. even though the government keeps strict control over the church, chuck holton has our story from havana. >> when fidel castro took power in cuba, communism gained a foothold, the u.s. responded with an embargo. in the 50 years since more than a million cuban citizens have escaped the oppression what is known as the revolution. the average citizen can't change jobs and unauthorized internet connection will land you in jail. the average citizen makes $15 a

month. change happens slowly, some would say it is coming out of necessity. it is surprising how little it is changed since the embargo began in early 1960s, one thing that is changing is the area of religious freedom. >> we have a hard time for the church. almost 30 years they we suffered discrimination. >> things have changed dramatically in the last few years, the church is staging a come back. >> i think the cuban woman believes that the gospel is good for the nation of cuba. for that reason they are asking the church in cuba to help to bring back the great value of the cuban family. >> being a christian, it

guaranteed a very hard leader. these attitudes changed when raul castro was elected in 2009. he promised to move the country away from the communist policies. >> in three years, from 12 prayer groups now we have 103 prayer groups in this area. several years ago, this could not happen. now it is possible, by the miracle of god. >> [ foreign speaking ]. >> we saw in times past many rigid things that would never be broken. now we are seeing a great harvest of souls. >> the church is making inroads in the public schools they are teaching children the basics of moral principle. it is unheard of even in

home. i got a call from this village the baby belongs to, they are saying if they bring the baby back home, they may poison him. >> during this time, raj the hospital administration and jessica, the nurse fell in love with him and decided to adopt him. >> it was so unexpected for me. there was a sense that the lord was like, this is the child i have called for you to care for. >> jessica knew that care knew getting adam the medical attention he l needed. >> he sent me a personal e-mail, brook, i don't know if you know anyone in the united states that could give us advice about what to do. i sent that e-mail on to cranial

specialist, he said he thought we would be able to bring him to unc. >> right away a team of doctors at north carolina's childrens' hospital mobilized to develop a plan. >> if adam stayed in the northeast of india, he would not be alive. >> adam would need several surgery, some right away, others down the road. >> baby adam's hospital bill is still very high. when people heard his story, they came to his rescue. >> david anderson organized a fund raiser that collected an astounding $100,000 in just the first week. >> we quickly established an online giving page. normally that would take several days. we were told it was urgent it
