9:02 pm
arab states, like egypt. a former ambassador to egypt says they are using democracy as a tool to take power. >> they want to stay forever. the election was good because they love them to reach power by democratic way. but i don't think they will continue toin to be democratic later. >> reporter: mosel says shake usif shows what they really want. >> the egyptian people will have to accustom itself to the shari'a because it is a muslim country. we are going to take it over. and maybe in the beginning people aren't very happy, but later they will understand it, the shari'a is the best way for egypt. >> reporter: while they face a great deal of resistance in egypt, mosel
9:03 pm
fears the muslim brotherhood just took a giant leap forward to making their israel neighbour as islamic state. >> wendy: christians around the world are concerned about the church. under shari'a, christians can be forced to do shari'a law. earlier charlene israel asked chris mitchell how egypt's christians are reacting to the reality of their new president. >> reporter: chris, what impact will this have on egypt's christians? >> it is going to have a huge impact, charlene. i talked to one christian today, and he said the atmosphere had changed even one day after the results that come. for example, it is affecting christian women in particular. some women are getting intimidation, and getting threats on the streets, saying one day you're going to have to wear the veil.
9:04 pm
things have changed now. there is a big concern among the christian population in egypt, both the evangelicals and the christians. what impact this is going to have on them now and in the future. >> reporter: how are they responding to these changes? will they go underground? or will their witness increase? >> i think one thing they will have, charlene, is witness increase. we talked to some people in ministries who go into the muslim world and say what happens and what is happening in egypt, is there is sort of an explosion of evangelism, and many muslims are come to jesus christ because of this. they don't see islam is the solution, as the muslim brotherhood is saying. some people oflizing. of leaving. one expert i was talking to today said the people who can, who have the money, are emigrating, but the poor cannot. another leader i spoke to said he is trying to encourage christians throughout egypt to get
9:05 pm
ready, to gird their loins, so to speak, to get ready for the times that are coming that he says are going to be even greater. i believe there will be a depth of spirituality, and they're going to go deeper in their faith and reach out to their muslim neighbours. >> reporter: how can we pray for them, chris? >> i think pray they would not be intimidated. i think the muslim brotherhood and salafists -- there was an incident in a alexandra, they wanted to -- they threatened to burn down the church. pray they would have boldness to exercise their faith. and wisdom as to what to do in circumstances that are many times dangerous. i would pray, too, that the gospel would go forth in egypt. and one other thing that is happening in the muslim world are dreams and visions. muslims are experiencing dreams and visions like never before. pray, too, that muslims would experience dreams and
9:06 pm
visions, where they literally see jesus and many times come to faith in him. >> wendy: and as chris just mentioned, muslims are experiencing jesus through dreams and visions. and it is a growing phenomenon in the islamic world. julie stall has the testimonies of many men who say jesus super naturally appeared to them and changed their lives forever. >> reporter: the phenomenon of these dreams and visions have spread from indonesia to morocco and beyond. several years ago, ali went on the pilgrimage to mecca. >> of course when i went to mecca, i was going there to pay homage to the kafa. >> reporter: his experience in mecca is dramatized in this d.v.d. called "more than dreams." >> that month i saw jesus in a dream. he touched my forehead with his finger. after touching me, he said
9:07 pm
you belong to me. and then he touched me above my heart. you have been saved, follow me; you belong to me, he said. i thought, okay, i'm not going to finish that pilgrimage. whatever it takes, i'm going to follow that voice. >> reporter: in addition to ali's story, the d.v.d. tells of other muslims who came to faith in jesus through a dream or vision. >> we're seeing that all around. we're hearing about people who had never even thought about jesus as savior. and they're content muslims and they're having dreams over and over. >> reporter: tom and his wife, joanna, take the gospel to the muslim world. tom also wrote the up coming book, "dreams and visions, is jesus awakening the muslim world?" >> i think our god is a fair god. he is righteous and just. people are seeking. they don't know where to go. maybe they don't have a bible. he'll get the message to them somehow. >> reporter: this woman comes from a central asian country. her identity is hidden for
9:08 pm
security reasons. >> in the church, if you ask how many people came to christ -- how they came to christ, and 80% will say they saw him in a dream. >> reporter: a christian friend challenged this woman to ask god to speak to her personally. >> and so i decided to ask him, and so i did. and then the next day, i guess, i saw a dream. and i saw in my dream -- i saw jesus at a bridge, and i decided to come to him. >> hey, guys, my name is hasam. >> reporter: hasam, host of a satellite tv program, hears from muslim about their dreams and visions. >> i had one lady write me and said, i have had a nightmare. i turned on the television, and there you are. and she said, the words that were coming out of your mouth were so peaceful, i fell asleep. and when i fell asleep, i ended up having a vision of jesus. she says, i saw the lord. she wasn't a believer.
9:09 pm
she said, i saw the lord, jesus, and he was in a bright white robe, and he pointed to a man that i knew in the dream was abraham, and he was sacrificing isaac. and as soon as i looked over, i knew jesus was the christ. >> you know, nobody goes to sleep, chris, a muslim and wakes up a christian. but it knocks down the false barriers that are inherent in islam. a couple of them are that we worship three gods. that the bible is corrupted. >> reporter: the doyles say compared to the political storm sweeping the middle east, this could be seen as a spiritual earthquake. >> as things heat up spiritually in islam, man, the holy spirit is moving even more powerfully. >> people are desperate, governments are changing, and everybody's foundation has massive cracks in it. and jesus is the answer
9:10 pm
that can come in and fill that need. >> reporter: they say many of these visions, combined with satellite television, is reaching muslims in unprecedented numbers. the doyles say believers in the west can join this spiritual revolution. >> say, yes, i think that the harvest in plent plentiful, but the workers are few. we've got to reach those with the gospel of christ. >> not everybody is going to go to the middle east, but they can pray. and no leader can block intercession around the world. that is one thing that can get into any country. we need to pray, as believers, that god would continue to push the gospel out to the ends of the earth. >> reporter: julie stall, cbn news, jerusalem. >> up next, powers to change. a media blitz brings the message of christ to
9:13 pm
>> wendy: taking the gospel to a denseing pop lateed nation like india is a challenge. but one organization recently introduced millions of people to a life-changing message using billboards and tv advertising. the power to change media blitz reached more people in weeks than local churches could reach in years. >> reporter: hydrobed is home to india's high-tech industry. many refer to it as the country's silicon valley. but despite the city's technological advances, it's population suffers the same problems mankind has faced for centuries. >> they are different. there are so many people. and so many people are in so many difficult situations. and they're thinking my life can never change. it will be the same. but this message, this campaign, will bring them hope. yes, there is a power that can change your life. >> reporter: these power to change ads appeared on buses, taxis and billboards

this summer. radio and television commercials challenged residents to learn about the dramatic places taking place in individuals like peter samuel, once an alcoholic and now a pastor. >> i thought this is the best way to honor my god, who gave me a new life 18 years back. i found it a great joy to tell the world this is where i was. and probably i would have died as a drunk, and nobody would have ever realized who peter samuel was. but god picked me up from that situation and put me here. >> reporter: such testimonies dramatized through the "power to change" campaign gave local churches a powerful, new way for christians to reach their city. the director says media compaigns can saturate unreached populations. >> we're not bringing people into a stadium. we're, together with the churches, going and targeting the whole city. 10million people in the
9:15 pm
city, and 10 million people are the targets. >> reporter: thousands of callers flooded the phone centre, requesting the book of the stories of lives changed by god. >> we had 60 phones going pretty well non-stop. we should have over 100,000 telephone calls of people who specifically ordered that book i just described. we're talking about hindus, we're talking about muslims in the city of hydrobad. it is something that churches have never ever seen in that city. >> reporter: participating church leaders already report new visitors, and they've also seen their own congregations become more active. >> i knew they were excited. at this moment, some of them are on their way going to different houses and giving the book to those. >> they feel very comfortable telling to the non-christians, to say just call this number and get that book. you will know what we've
9:16 pm
been speaking of for so long. that power to change was an easy way to share christ with others. >> there are people who invested our church because of this campaign and the giving of this book. >> reporter: over the past decade, the finland-based ministry has taken the "power to change media" campaign to over 60 cities. including the town of israel. there they focused on the arabic and russia-speaking populations. and hundreds of jewish families requested the campaign book. >> i think god gave media to the churches. we are using the media in a way they have never seen before. tremendous fire power, and taking all of the media, and in concert for 30 days, and sounding that message. it is something that has not happened. >> reporter: as the hydrobad campaign winds
