9:03 am
we do it in 14 carat white gold and red gold. >> what is the trend for gold? i know it was white. >> white is still very strong. but rose is the thing. it's just a pure, rich color. it has a beautiful pinkish color. >> they sell iphones in that color now, too. >> we're doing our shimmering diamonds. we started talking about shimmering diamonds about three, four years ago we started making it. and it's still one of the biggest and one of the best sellers. it shimmers. the diamonds are set in a setting on a pivot and the slightest vibration makes it pivot. and the quality in the diamonds i use, they're just bright white and they mesmerize you to the eye. lot of people get a lot of compliments in wearing it. especially like here in vegas when they're dealers and moving all the time. >> they're everywhere. >> and the sparkle of the light. >> it catches whatever light is

>> "morningwe'll be back. >> morning buzz. never as hot as now. 2015 is the hottest year for gadgets. what are the must haves that will top that special someone's list. here with the top five best picks is award winning tech expert, andrea smith. hi. >> hi, shawn. >> you have a whole bunch of cool stuff in front of you. let's start with music and entertainment. who doesn't like that? what do you have for us? >> i know. we partnered with five brands to bring you some great stuff, music first. for the music lover on your list, ultimate ears. ue boom 2. look at the beautiful speakers. they let you take your music with you wherever you go. delivering wireless 360-degree sound.
9:14 am
they're not going to poop out on you. they've got 15 hour battery life. i like these tap controls on the top, so you can start and skip songs without ever having to touch your phone 'cause when your hands are wet, you don't want to touch your phone. look at this. it's the size of a water bottle. it actually fits into the water bottle holder on a bicycle. >> that is so brilliant. and you don't have to fedle and try to figure out where the volume is. it's pretty clear. >> exactly. yeah. >> how about laptops and storage? it seems like especially storage prices have gone down considerably and laptops are getting more powerful by the day. >> absolutely. two things i want to show you. laptops. i really like versatility in a laptop. this season the samsung achieve book 9 spin tops the list because it's got a 360-degree hinge that let's you start out in laptop mode and then you can
9:15 am
mode, watch some videos on that crisp qhd plus touch screen. portable. half an inch thick. running intel's latest processor, so it's super fast and efficient and has an hgmi port so you can connect to a big screen tv. storage. a lot of us have smart phones and they keep getting filled up and you got to delete. so give the gift of space. scan disk i expand flash driving. it let's you transfer those from your phone onto a computer. you never have to say, what can i get rid of quickly? you can transfer from an iphone, ipad, to a pc or a mac using the built-in usb port and lightning cable. so you don't even have to go searching for a cable. this comes in capacities up to 128 gigabytes. >> i like it. very cool. and it makes it so easy without having to use that proprietary clunky software that sometimes the phone makes you use and it
9:16 am
that seems so simple. >> so easy. so you don't have to delete. it's really great. >> how about our health? we can't plug a usb into ourselves and figure out how we're doing. but there are ways to monitor. >> you know, i think if someone could figure that out, they would certainly try to market it. you're right. we can monitor our health. and they say the best thing is to drink eight glasses of water a day. who can even monitor that? right? this gadget can. this thermos connecteled hydration bottle with smart lid. 24-ounce water bottle that keeps track of how much water you consumed. now, this syncs with a app. so it will give you real time tracking of how much you've had to drink and if you haven't had enough, it's going to send you an alert and say, shawn, you need some more water. you can set personalized goals based on your own fitness and activity levels. it will also sync with your fitbit activity tracker.
9:17 am
us to see for the kids, right? >> yeah. so kids, tablets are great for kids. they're a great learning tool. but parents should not give kids free rein on the internet. bad idea. samsung kids is a monthly subscription service filled with engaging fun and educational content without the worry. it's available on the samsung galaxy tab 3 lite. no ads, no in app purchases. stem learning. that's what the apps are focused on. i really like that you can set time limits and you can track and monitor your kids' progress on this. >> that's awesome. thank you so much. you have a great holiday. >> hey. happy holidays to you. >> top those must have lists love. to learn more, killer apps.tv. go there now. dao? >> thank you, shawn. when was the last time you went to the dentist? prevent problems with your teeth by visiting a place that treats you just like family. here to show us why preventive dentistry can save you time and
9:18 am
eastern canyon dental. welcome back. >> good morning. good to see you. >> before we get into that, why do you think a lot of people don't like to go see the dentist? >> that's a really interesting question. i think there is a lot of fear. one of the things that we know about is stress has a lot to do with it, is that there is a feeling of uncertainty. stress response, uncertainty, threatened danger. people that are uncertain, it doesn't even have to do with dentistry in general, any specialty that somebody might visit as far as their daily life. so in our office, our main goal is to help reduce the feeling of uncertainties. when that happens, when uncertainty goes down, trust goes up and stress goes down. so stress is probably the number one thing. sometimes there is a financial compound. and the best way that we can
9:19 am
show people how we treat them as if they're a member of my immediate family. when we do that, we take care of things now instead of putting them off, putting them off, putting them off. when somebody let's me do that, then their long-term dental care is less extensive and less expensive. we can take care of it now, it prevents real problems later on. >> and if you delay going to the dentist because of a stress and a fear, things can happen and things get worse and it can be expensive to treat these things later down the road. >> that's very true. i see even young patients that have deferred treatment that are just in trouble. it's because of fear and sometimes it's economics. but in our office, we really try to find a way. if somebody really motivated -- we go all out to really try to help them solve those problems. it's not just like if you can't do it, then get out the door.
9:20 am
>> you're very aware of that. >> and like it says in my office, there is a sign or poster on the wall. it's such an important message that i even have it on the back of my business card. it's not your typical business card. and it states: my notice to my patients is i understand my job to be as follows: to raise the probability as high as possible that you will spend the smallest percentage of the rest of your life in the dental chair. after my team and i worked diligently to first help you achieve the same level of dental health that i would provide to a member of my own immediate family. we follow this principle, the dentist becomes more comfortable, less extensive and for the long-term, less expensive. >> again, you put this on the business card. >> it's on my business card. >> people can see it. >> it's a message that follows me all over. >> we have a picture of your staff as well. the office is comfortable. it's clean.
9:21 am
and who are you standing next to? >> we have lily on the left. she's phenomenal dental assistants. gigi is my office manager. sally is my receptionist. we have two people at this point. three people that are bilingual, they speak spanish and janis, the lady on the right side is an intern from one of the local dental assisting schools that's been with us for a couple months. we're showing her how dentistry should be provide to do a patient. not just walking into an office. many times what happens is the first time when people walk in, the first question is do you have your insurance card? that should be the second thing. the most important thing that we establish with the way we do it in a 20 to 30 minute meeting before we do anything is make sure that we're a good fit. the insurance and the way people provide that is secondary.
9:22 am
happens in an office, in a doctor's office, dental and medical or any specialty that somebody that might be, whether it's an attorney, is so make sure you have that relationship. the doctor-patient relationship is the most important thing in the office. then everything else falls into place. that's what we do. >> people don't want to feel like they're a number or just somebody that's in and out of the office. >> that's true. >> they want connections. >> my own personal physician just quit because he didn't want to see 25 to 30 patients a day to pay the rent. so now i'm looking for a physician. what am i going to do? i'm going to basically interview doctors based on my principles of what you saw on the poster before i select a doctor that i feel really comfortable with in entrusting my health. that's what i do. that's a personal experience just recently.
9:23 am
somebody wants to come in and sit down with me, they can do that. there is no cost for that visit. many of those people decide that they want to become patients. but there is no obligation to do so. when somebody comes in, it's a teaching thing. they learn how to select adenitis or a doctor or any other specialty that they might require in their life. >> doctor, very quickly, you have a free offer for the first five callers and that is free white cleaning? >> that's true. but that's secondary to our message. the first five people that want to come in and sit down with me for 20, 30 minutes, we'll provide that. the most important thing is that they get a flavor, a taste of how they should be treated. like you said before, people feel like they're a number. i call that conveyer belt medicine in dentistry. you go in one end and come out the other. it's all mechanical. there is nothing personal. >> you want to get to know your patient. >> we are reestablishing the
9:24 am
>> doctor, thank you so much. >> it's always a pleasure to see you. >> you, too. dr. stokes' office is located on southeastern avenue south of wiglawn. for more information, call the number on your screen. you can also follow him on facebook. still to come on the blend, dirk arthur brings the wild in studio. meet his brand-new tiger cub. tryouts for the upcoming season of the ultimate fighter are currently open to three weight classes. the ufc tryouts will be held this monday at red rock casino. all candidates must be between 21 and 34 years old. there are restrictions.
9:25 am
we'll be right
9:26 am
of you this holiday season. you can get the skin you once had virtually pain free. technology. >> here with more is deshani fitch, the owner, founder, ceo and cosmetic laser specialist at my tight face. hi, how are you? >> very well. >> let's talk about, first of all, e prime. one of the many services that you offer at my tight face. explain what that is. >> it's one of my favorite treatments because it is minimally invasive, but as it goes into the face of somebody that has severe laxity and sagginess and deeply etched wrinkles, it produces instant collagen and laxen. there was a little bit of down time with it. there is a little bit of pain associated with it. but it is quite an amazing treatment. and it's one of my favorite treatments to see in a more
9:27 am
>> again, you mentioned this is for someone with severe wrinkles. so an older candidate perhaps? >> absolutely. over the age of, preferly 60, 65 and above. >> great. >> there is another service that you offer that's ul it thera. >> it's beauty of sound. that works a little different to e prime. e prime is a radio frequency device and a cartridge of four pairs of needles are deployed. it's also f.d.a. approved, but ulthera works on transducers and the main frequency in that is ultrasound. and what it does is it's completely different from the e prime. the ulthera goes all the way into the muscle, kind of like a face lift, but not that invasive. and it pulls the face from the muscles, the skin from inside. when you age, you don't age inside -- outside inside. it happens from inside outside.
9:28 am
produces collagen and elastic. everything that needs the skin to look tighter and firmer. >> who would be a good candidate for this? >> this one i would say, anybody from 35 to 45, depending on your lifestyle. if your skin is aging a lot due to your lifestyle or due to stress in your life or whatever, this is fantastic. noninvasive. you will look fabulous in an hour. in and out. one of my favorites. >> absolutely. in and out. i know another thing you offer, obviously wrinkle reduction across the board. >> yes. everybody has it, from young to old. >> advanced wrinkle reduction. >> yes. that we use for more mature skin. we also have several other devices that address wrinkle reduction, depending on the skin and the age of the patient that comes in. we do the cheeks. we do the lips, which is the most commonly asked for procedure at my tight face. >> obviously this helps erase the wrinkles so the advanced
9:29 am
>> what happens is that it fills in -- when the laser goes in, we have radio frequency and laser, goes into the skin above the lips and around here. it fills it in. it doesn't, per say, erase it. it fills the wrinkles in so that the wrinkles disappear and the skin becomes more plump again. >> it's important to note it's not -- your body is creating it. >> exactly. like your own body has collagen. after a certain age, it's dormant. so what we are doing is reactivate o'clock what's already in your body so the results are longer lasting and they're more natural and they last longer 'cause they don't have to depend on me once they finish all their treatments. >> would this be over a series of treatments? >> yes. >> how does that work? >> it's impossible to get results, noninvasively if you're a little older off one treatment. it just won't work.
9:30 am
anything like that or fly by night thing. >> they're up front about this. >> yes, i am and i want to be very honest and clear about it. it has -- you have to do a couple of sessions. sometimes you may require only three. sometimes four. i can't even tell because i don't know how the person's skin fills up. >> of course. >> will react. >> will react. >> again, these are a series of treatments and you have to plan for that and you will get the best results if you plan. >> if you continue and be patient about it and go with the flow and realize that at the end of your treatments, you will see the result, the desired result. you can't do one or two and go i didn't see any results. it does take time. >> before we go, let's talk about your signature treatments. you offer some. >> okay. we have so many. i don't know what we're showing. >> there we go. >> radio frequency. we do lip sculpting. eye tightening, laser photo facial is really good for this time of the year because people want to be -- there is lots of
9:31 am
on and you want to have a radiant glow. so that really is a good thing to have, too. and there are people suffering from acne that we also have some really great acne treatments for those folks that would like to look good the holiday season. >> and for every laser you need, that one. >> you also offer a gift certificate is this. >> yes. we just have i think we sent a copy to you. >> you just offer it in different denominations. you can buy -- >> igyou want. you can buy $100 gift can certificate. you can buy a $200 gift certificate. by $1,000 gift certificate. >> let's write it out for 2,000. >> you can go higher. 2500, yeah, sorry. >> quickly, you have holiday hours? >> yes, we do. we are now open monday to friday and saturday 10 to 3 only. >> awesome. great having you. >> thank you for having me. >> thank you. right now at mytightface, radio

'cause it's all about fun, entertainment and magic and all that good stuff. >> you have a breeding program. >> i do. program. this cat was born from a pair of my tigers that were used to be in the show. they're now living at a sanctuary. if they're not in the show and working every day and have an activity, then i prefer they live in a large area. so we work with several sanctuaries and endangered programs, breeding programs throughout the u.s. she was just born eight weeks ago. my friends at the sanctuary were like hey, would you like a little baby back since you donated a couple of animals to us already?
9:38 am
>> will she be in the show later on? >> yes, we'll add her in the show in probably about a week. super fun. we can talk about endangered animals. >> how do we help name her? how are you going to work this contest? >> i have to get approval. but if anyone wants to call in with suggestions, we're widely open to any suggestions. unfortunately, i'm terrible at naming animals, so i like to do the contest thing. i come up with the name and my staff goes, i don't think so. >> we actually have a cat named in one of our contest, miley tigris. >> your show is very family friendly? super family friendly. yep. great for all ages. all kinds of fun stuff. audience participation and comedy and big illusions.
