a pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car. the crash happened just hours ago near boulder highway and twain. action news anchor jacqui heinrich is there live right now with breaking details. jacqui. the road just reopened less than an hour ago.- police say the driver had little chance to stop when the woman shot out into oncoming traffic. th speed limit here is 45 miles per hour- crosswalks are a short distance away in either direction- but police say that woman attempted to cross 6 lanes of traffic rather than use a safe corridor. the driver was not impaired and has cooperated with police, but officers say say it's a scene they've watched play out far too many times...now they just feel like fatal detail "when you continue to see the same mistakes over and over again and the catastrophic consequences of those mistakes

frustrated" this is the 117th fatal accident in metros jurisdiction this year. reporting live jh channel 14 action news a brawl breaks-out in the middle of the lunchroom at arbor view high school and students get the whole thing on camera. now.. the mother of one of the teenage girls in the middle of it speaks out to action news. she says they went too far when they were breaking it up. action news reporter bryan callahan is at the school tonight with more on what she wants to happen now. bryan. the mother did not want to be identified, because of concerns for her family's safety, but says she feels the staff her crossed the line when trying to break up a fight that she says her daughter didn't start. frame that has her enraged. 15.36.25.00 "he is running at her like a football player." she says this happened wednesday at arbor view high. before the video picks up she says two girls pushed a table into her daughter and threw trays of food at her. she says when her daughter went 15.35.25.00 "you don't body slam somebody's child, throw them on the table and then throw them on the ground." the district issued a statement about the fight saying several staff members stepped in to stop the fight and de-escalate the situation. adding... "in the event of urgent situations, our administrators and staff have to act quickly to diffuse situations and prioritize safety." the district also said administrators had spoken to the parents of all the students involved. the mother says she still feels there were better ways for the staff to handle the situation. 15.36.10.00 "i could see if he was trying to restrain her and move her out if the situation, but it clearly shows on the video is that isn't what he did." the mother says her daughter

men threw a rock through the window of a pawn shop yesterday morning.. where two suspects were caught on survellaince cameras stealing two shotguns and a rifle. officers catch one of them.. then decided to use his cell phone to text the suspect. he responded with his location that's when patrol officers moved in and arrested the guy. a third suspect was found nearby. police are still looking for suspect number-4.. but they say they know who he is. now to the latest weather developments we're following along the west coast. high surf is battering parts of southern california. this video from ventura shows the large waves pummeling coastal areas and flooding streets. aerial shots of the ventura pier also show some of the wooden posts have broken loose.. forcing it to close over safety concerns. the big waves are expected to continue in the region through tomorrow. tonight...mostly cloudy and colder with showers until early this evening...then partly cloudy after midnight.
