9:02 am
birth of jesus, and so it's fun for the entire family. it's very plain and clear. it has all the characters that we have come to note through the christmas story, but this is the true story of the real meaning of christmas. >> look at the baby. >> the baby is -- >> you have to get a new baby every year. >> we do. we do. we're hoping for a great baby, doesn't matter if it's a boy or girl. when we get lucky is when of the people in our church have twins, and then we'll be able to -- >> what's the audition process like? >> you have to be a certain age. >> one of the big draws is live animals, family fair, kids love seeing animals. tell us about the animals, what we can expect. >> we have -- we contract with a place called petting zoo to you. they bring out live animals that we have for the kids to see, and we have donkeys, sheep, but our big attraction is a camel named
9:03 am
moses is 2-years-old, and he -- people can come out and see the camel and take pictures and all that stuff. >> the only station in the valley to have a camp camel camp. >> on him day. >> there they arraignment. >> there is a wise man and two shephards, and yeah, they're out there. and that's moses. he has been with us for the -- this will be the third year. >> camera shy. >> a little camel. >> he was a baby when he came two years ago, and he's grown and look at that. wouldn't you want to come out and see moses? it's going to be a neat time. >> what does he like to eat? >> i don't know what he likes to eat, but it -- everybody is crazy about his coat. he's the warmest guy out there today. >> you know, you -- the kids must so enjoy this coming out to see this. >> absolutely.
9:04 am
family things that we really think that people should put it as one of their events, because you go to the -- you see the display, make green valley part of what you do on those special christmas nights this friday, saturday and sunday. five performances from 6:00, ends at 8:30. we have refreshments. you can come see the animals, and the performance is about 15 minutes long. and it's free. >> great. so i got to know, obviously there is a lot of logistics, when you start preparing for this event? >> we've been preparing all year. we get about september, we have had ladies making great costumes, and just putting it together. you would think that a performance like that wouldn't take that much, but to make it look so smooth and for it to come off like it does is a lot of work by a lot of folks. >> can you tell us about your services you offer?
9:05 am
we have services at 8:00 where we sing traditional hymns and songs, and 9:30 and 11:00 we sing contemporary songs. go somewhere to church on christmas eve. it's a great way to start christmas -- your christmas celebration. our church has service, three services at 3:00, 4:30 and 6:00. and it's a baptist church. i encourage everybody whatever denomination you are go to a christmas eve service and it really makes the holidays a little bit different. >> gives you a sense of community to get to know the people and feel like you're part of something. >> yes. >> moses is feeling the attention here, loving the camera. >> and with these actors, you get a little break? >> well, yeah, they are troupers. they goat all night. depending on what the weather is like, we had snow, we've had rain, we've had wind. so we're expecting anything and we'll just roll. >> be there anyway.
9:06 am
familiar. >> we have been to your show twice. we love it. fantastic. >> is he going to be an actor? >> well, i don't know. i think he very well could. >> already starring in shephard number two. got to be exciting for you. it started really small and it's kept growing. >> it's a tradition at our church that i don't know that we'll part with for ale while, because it's just grown and it's just something that unique that we do. >> does your church need anything, are you doing fundraisers? >> no, we're all set, and like i said this is our main push, will be the living nativity and christmas eve services. >> thank you so much. >> thank you for having us. appreciate it. >> green valley baptist church presents its annual living nativity this friday through sunday at their location in henderson. there will be five shows each night on the half hour, starting

blend." welcome back. that's value of owning silver? get your questions answered and get top return at nevada coin
9:09 am
>> here is john jankowski. >> somebody who studies coins, the coin guy. >> take it away coin guy. you've been here in the valley for years. you're an expert coin guys. >> we've been buying coins in our new location for the last three months. the focus today is i did bring interesting things, like -- sorry. >> there you go. >> i brought something interesting. >> what is this? >> that -- >> it's so tiny. >> it's a greek stader. made during the time of alexander the great, and made by hand. somebody brought that into the store. >> what's the value of something like that? >> in excess of $2,000. >> a little thing. where did he find it? >> he actually had been in their family for quite a few generations, as many of these things are. we'll buy pretty much everything
9:10 am
we have real advantage because we have contacts that allow us to sell anything we buy. the real focus today is on selling. right now silver and gold are at a pretty low point in price. i think everybody should buy silver, buy gold, get out of debt. now if you had a hundred grand i wouldn't put it all into silver and gold. i would take a percentage of your portfolio, and buy stuff like this. >> okay. >> this is real money, folks, for those of you out there looking. if you hear the noise and you can't see it -- >> somebody brought this bag of coins in to you -- >> just yesterday. >> what is the significance of this? are they old coins. >> these are pre1965 coins. so american coins made in 1964 and earlier are silver. in 1965, they began to debase the currency just as the greeks
9:11 am
it so many of the empires began to debase their currency, and empire started to slip away. and hopefully that won't happen here in america. >> does somebody collect this for the last -- >> who knows? >> five, ten years? >> who knows. might have been in their family a long time. investors buy this all the time. >> you have the ability to determine on sight exactly how much this is worth? >> absolutely. absolutely. the gentleman called me, got a quote. he liked the quote. he came in. we counted the goods. we paid him in cash. he walked out the door with a pretty good amount of cash. same here. this came in yesterday, too. these are all silver american eagles. some are colorized. >> what are these? >> american eagles are made by the united states government, and some people -- some companies colorize them. they will put liberty on there afterwards. some investors like those, some detest them. a matter of personal taste. investors are spending a lot of money buying american silver
9:12 am
>> the holidays obviously a logical time to come in and sale. >> it goes both ways. on the selling part, we have tax considerations that come up with the end of the year. we also have people that want to raise a little cash. we have people looking to buy gifts, such as the silver eagles. these are austrian philharmonics. this is a two-ounce nevada silver coin with a gold nugget embedded in it, right near las vegas. >> very cool. and you are open seven days a week. >> seven days a week. 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. including christmas and all holidays. >> what makes you different from other businesses that might appear similar in nevada? >> i think we have two differentiations. one, since we open we're paying more than anybody else. we're selling less than anybody else, as well. it's forced our major competitors to get in line. i'm not going to call them
9:13 am
don't feel that way towards them, but they have been forced to pay more for stuff like this and they can't sell it for the prices they were selling it for three months ago. >> that's great for the consumer. you have a deal with glaziers, as well? >> we do. if you spend $200 you get a $50 gift certificate. that's a nice bonus. end of year bonus, so to speak. >> for people who have some coins maybe tucked in a cigar box or canister, they don't really know the value, can they take it in to you to see? >> absolutely. >> not make a commitment? if they want to sell they obviously can. >> that's a two-fold question. people bring stuff in, most have. for instance, somebody brought us in a bunch of silver dollars in a box. in there. i paid extra for it. the other thing i tell our customers, see us last. in a business where trust is hard to come by, come to us last. >> i was going to ask how many
9:14 am
they go other places. >> they're very concerned that they're going to get cheated. they want to make sure they're getting a fair deal. we'll sit there, and there is 1,859-dollar, not that we have to show that, but how do you know what this is worth? i'll show you what it's worth. i'll go on to the computer and show you what i'm looking at. >> thanks, john. >> thank you so much. >> let the professionals at nevada coin mart appraise your coins and currency. could be far more than face value. visit their new location on thatming oh, or call them and visit their website on your screen. next, we're partying like it's 2016 already. >> that's right. michael cavanaugh is here.

we'll be right back. discover a new pain noninvasive treatment to bring back your youth, called radio frequency and the state of the art treatment is available right here in the valley. here with more is medical assistant lindsay kay from laser med solutions. good morning to you. what exactly is radio frequency. >> radio frequency is a noninvasive treatment to reduce wrinkles, fine lines or deep folds and tighten up the skin in the area that we're treating. >> we're talking about the face area? >> we're talking about the face and the body. and the most popular area is going to be the face where it's the first sign of aging for our patients but we can treat any area. if you're looking to tighten up an area on the body we can treat that, as well. what's nice about this type of treatment, like i say, it's noninvasive. so radio frequency is just heat
9:23 am
what this is doing is we are heating that deep layer of your skin, the derma to, a target temperature. with the heat that builds up, this is scientifically proven to stimulate the growth of brand-new collagen. we are taking your collagen back in time. as far as results go, you're looking at a look of about four to ten years younger with four sessions. >> that's a little wand that they're rubbing on your face? >> correct. so you -- you don't feel any pain. the most you feel is a warming sensation which feels like a hot stone mass acknowledge. this is perfect for patients that have sensitive skin. as you see there in that treatment, we are only using a water based conducting gel for the treatment. so even if you tend to have more sensitive skin, this is still going to be a noninvasive treatment that's going to be able to help take you and your collagen back in time to reduce the wrinkles. >> how quickly will you see the results? >> so you can see results immediately after the first session, and that just improves
9:24 am
like i was saying most patients get the today it mat can change in a series of four sessions. after treatment. >> it's just amazing results. and this is the only radio frequency device on the market that is noninvasive that can treat the eye area. and that's one of the most popular areas, one of the first signs where you get the dark crows feet. and this is one of those treatments where we can treat the complete face. so we're treating the whole area. >> and i'm seeing a picture of men, as well, so you can do this on any -- >> male, female, the age does not matter. unfortunately, we start to see 20s. there are so many signs that you're going to start to notice that you're getting the deep folds or the fine lines. and there's a lot of causes that causes wrinkles in general. smoking, dehydration, stress, they're all factors that come to on the condition of our skin.
9:25 am
improve that and take you back in time with that. >> do you get better results if you do several treatments? >> you do. so like i was saying, someone could get away if they're in their early 20s, but doing one or two sessions with us, but most of our patients that we're seeing that come into the clinic are from 40 all the way up to 80-years-old. and for those types of patients, the skin of the -- the condition of the skin is pretty severe, we're looking at doing a series of four sessions where they come once every four weeks for best results. >> what type of down time should we expect? >> that's another nice part about this, there is absolutely no down time with this. you can come in for your session. if we're treating the face and the neck, you want to do both at the same time you're more than welcome to do that. it takes about an hour and 15 minutes, so you're in and out. you can apply make up right after. like i was saying there is no side effects, so no down time with something like this. >> where are you located? >> we're located at washington
9:26 am
rainbow boulevard, and we are swot 200. >> you have a special offer. >> we do. if you're looking to get rid of those fine lines or deep folds and reduce wrinkles in a noninvasive way and improve the condition of your skin, we're doing a special for 40% off for four sessions. >> that is fantastic. and you're located where? >> we're located at washington and rainbow, 777 north rainbow boulevard, suite 200. you want to tighten up that area on the body you can give us a call and we can give you the information. >> get a gift certificate, too? >> absolutely. it's the time for the holidays. if you want to get looking good for the new year, give us a call, and we'll help you out with all the information you need. >> thank you, lindsay. for all morning blend viewers who call today and book an appointment, you're going to get 40% off four sessions of pelleve. that is today only. laser med solutions is located on rainbow south of washington.

9:34 am
attorney jamie cogburn. hello. great to see you. >> good to see you guys. >> tell us about this new program and partnership with the local nonprofit. >> we partnered with a local non-profit, the only one in the state that can do this program. we work with all the banks. they're approved with the banks. you basically short sale your house to them. they're going to lease it back to you and you have an option to buy it from one year to four years later at today's price. >> how does this help the people of las vegas? >> it's crazy to believe this, because everybody says the economy is so great and all those things, but 35% of people in the valley are still upside-down which to me, you know, unless you're living in summerlin, which has really come back, the rest of the valley had is still hurting and people are still 100,000, $200,000 upside-down. if you owe $400,000 on your house and it's worth $220,000, you're going to buy it back for the $220. it lowers your payment and you'll have equity when you purchase your house.
9:35 am
in your home but the best part some people don't want to move. >> right. it's like a principal reduction. people say i would love to own my house for what it's worth today. and now you have that opportunity. it's one of those rare things. because we partner with a local nonprofit we said we'll waive our fees. the bank pays us a very small amount of money, but really it's a give back. we closed one actually today, it's going to close -- they're closing today. he owed $450,000, and he's buying it back for $240,000. that's a huge savings. >> he doesn't have to pay you >> yes. they pay. >> you're doing this because >> correct. >> that's great. take us through the process. >> you call us. we're going to get information from you, and then we'll walk you through the process. ultimately you don't move, nobody knows what's going on,
9:36 am
house, we have the house listed. the local nonprofit puts in an offer. everything is disclosed to the bank. bank of america participates as well as wells fargo. you're going to sell it to them. you never move, and then you have the option to purchase it back. they're going to -- they are hud certified. they help you if there's any credit issues, we get that fixed for you. you're ready to purchase within one year. >> you mentioned the banks. we don't have to find our own lender. you can refer us. >> we just want the client to show up. we're -- we handle everything from a to z. we go through the contracts. we handle the escrow. we handle the real estate portion. we just handle everything, negotiate with the bank to make sure you're getting the best deal possible. that way you can just move forward and you don't have to worry about anything. >> that's great. and you work with a variety of lenders, so there is no issues there. >> correct. >> bank of america, you got -- >> wells fargo, city bank, nation star is a big one, green tree.
9:37 am
it's actually a federal -- there is a -- not a loophole, but a federal program that allows the tank -- the banks get credit with the federal government for working with the nonprofit and doing the program, which is why they want to do the program. >> on this particular home you're closing escrow on today, how long did the process take for this person to start to finish? >> prior to them coming to your on office they had been working on it for about two years. >> on their own? >> on their own. they tried to modify it and tried to do a bunch of different things. our process took about 3 1/2 months, four months. >> what kind of paperwork do we need to give you? >> we need a budget. we need a mortgage statementen an ultimately we'll need bank statements and pay stubs and some documents you have to sign. we put all that stuff, we send it to you, and it's on our website. we send you a link and you fill it out. >> step by step you take us through it. >> yes. >> with the end of the year approaching, people trying to
9:38 am
to accomplish things they didn't think were possible. >> if you're one of the people upside-down, and you go i owe $400,000 and my house is worth $250,000, then to me you're crazy not to take advantage of it. there is limited funds. ultimately the funds will run out. but you know, it's a program that you get to take advantage of. you get to lower your interest rate, lower your monthly payment, and ultimately you get to have equity in your house instead of digging out of the hole for the next six, seven years, i could sell my house in two years and make money. >> you heard of all the horror stories five years, people got nowhere. it was crazy. >> i always say it's like fixing your own car. if you don't know how to work on your own car it's something you can do and you don't need a lawyer for anything, frankly. you can do everything for yourself. but you know, you don't need a doctor to amputate your leg either but probably not going to go that well if you do it yourself.
9:39 am
in this case, we don't charge you a dime. you come in, we don't charge you anything. we work with you, and sometimes when you come in this option is not your best option and we'll tell you what your other options are and you do what's best for you and your family. >> thank you, jamie. >> thank you for having me. >> to learn more about the program and jamie's services go to the website right there on your screen or call the number listed. jamie's office is located on saint lewis parkway in on ktnv.com you can find so many great stories on what makes the valley a special place to live. >> click on the positively positively lv tab, to deals with restaurants and more check out the website
9:40 am
we'll be right back. welcome back. overweight, obese, it's a growing problem in america, but our next guests can help you lose the weight and make a positive change in your life. >> here with more is dr. ivan goldsmith and travis zipper. good morning. >> welcome. >> good to see you guys again. >> we hear all the time that there is an obesity problem in america. what's your take on that, doctor? >> it's staggering, the numbers keep getting worse. when we look at las vegas and nevada, in particular we're about 28% of the adult population is obese. and you don't just get obesity but you get the other problems, including arthritis, diabetes, sleep apnea, cancer. so we want to really promote
9:41 am
integrated medically supervised weight loss program, and we address really the whole patient. it's extremely important that people who are overweight or obese know what their numbers are, their body mass index, and someone can handle all the problems that go along with the obesity. >> the new year is just around the return comer. people want to make a change in their life, and usually their number one resolution is to lose weight. and you can help them. >> we were just -- travis has some thoughts on that, as well. we like to get people to set a date and commit to something. it's a marker that people can say i start on this day, three months later i lost 15 or 20 pounds, and i was successful. or i made progress. it's a goal that they can look forward to, a date. and we want to encourage everybody. we have a three-month program where we give you everything from soups to nuts, including a new gene test.

that was here last week. incredible technology. they can measure new nutrients, vitamins, all from taking four hairs. now, even me, i think i have four hairs. travis will be able to counsel folks on that. that's going to be an incredible test because usually we have to draw the blood, and takes a long time to get the report back. we're giving it to the first 20 people that call us today. if you want to lose weight and know what lifestyle or environmental factors you got to modify, give us a call and -- >> travis tell us about your role in this. >> my role is the hand holding cattability situation of the program, and the doctor oversees the medical side of it. and i guide them through the process and either put them back on the path or i say give them a kick in the butt or a pat on the back for a good job. >> you do personal training with them? >> i'm a trainer. so it's more hands on. we don't have a facility to

that might be coming down the road. but it's pointing them in the right direction in terms of what they should be doing to try to get the most out of their time. our standard patient is female, 30 to 50-years-old that usually has kids and life and family. they need to know how to do things properly and get the most out of their time. >> we hear you turn on the news or you look at articles, the word bariatric. what does that mean? >> it's a study of obesity, and it's the practice of what medications and lifestyle changes and different techniques work to optimize a person's overall health and get them to the appropriate body mass index. i like this -- i'm the last stop before the bariatric surgeons. a lot of people come to me after they have been to the surgeons and they have a lap band, but those are not like perfect solutions where you never regain the weight and live happily ever after. a lot of those folks end up back with me. they have never really been

a lot of patients, i would say 70, 80% of them put the weight back on at 18 months. they need somebody who displayed competent and excellence in the area. you take additional residency training, you pass a board examination, and you're familiar with the new techniques and drugs and we talk about diet. we still have patients on hcg diet. i do antiaging where i optimize your growth or hormone. so we're like a one stop shop for all of those type of programs where you don't have to see three or four different providers. you can just see me. >> you hear about at the end of the day weight loss is calories in, calories out. do you agree with that? what's your philosophy there? >> i don't necessarily agree with that. everyone is different. the calorie in for calorie out is based on the law of thermodynamics.
