channel thirteen action news. the young mother police say ran into a crowd of people on the las vegas strip made her first court appearance this morning. 24 year-old lakeisha holloway is now facing murder charges for sunday's deadly crash. action news reporter mahsa saeidi was there in court, and joins us now live with the latest on the suspect. mahsa? we were looking for family members inside. but no one said they were there to support holloway. it was a very short arraingment these charges...so serious. there's was no discussion of bail. the defendant's attorney's say she remains on suicide watch. we asked about her 3 year old daughter who police say was in the car the whole time. december here in vegas, and over on the east coast, it's been unseasonably hot. in fact, temperatures in new york are expected to top 70-degrees christmas eve. and that extreme weather is happening all over the country... threatening people's travel plans this holiday. let's first go to arkansas -- the fog was so thick there...it triggered these two chain reactions on one highway. three trucks collided...with one spilling glue all over the road..... and on the the side, a 10-car pileup left a least 3 dead, and sent 7- others to the hopsital. in california, wind gusts up to 76 miles per hour. you can see them tossing nearly a dozen tractor trailers...like toy trucks. many drivers had to pull off the roads and just wait out the winds. and in utah, white out conditions made visibility so poor. parts of the state got twenty- four inches in just twenty-four

dorothy christensen, visiting from canada. 10:04:37:00 i don't feel safe, it kind of gives you a sick feeling that something like this could happen and a lot of times when i travel i feel safe but when something like this happens, i don't. commissioner steve sisolak says they're looking at other, possible safety improvements like more fencing, and bridges. right now, one woman is living in fear...saying she's possibly being targeted. first her car is stolen...but she gets its back. but then the thief struck again! marlene arellano says last wednesday, she was dropping off a car seat at her mother in law's near nellis and lake mead. the car was was running... and when she went inside the home, her car was gone. luckily, hours later, she tracked it down. then monday, arellano says she thinks the same crook came back... and tried to use her keys to unlock her door.
