crash, breaking glass and a window, and he grabbed his handgun. lt. dan mcgrath lvmpd after the homeowner grabbed his gun - he started heading downstairs to see what the ruckus was about. on his way down - he encountered a young man he had never seen before - and fired several shots at him. that suspect fled through a window - even as he suffered gunshot wounds. but immediately after - another man started coming up the staircase. the homeowner fired at him also - but this time the gunshots were deadly. police responded to two emergency calls. one from the homeowner saying he shot two people and another from his neighbor saying there's a wounded man in his backward. both young men were only 17 years old. the survivor is in critical condition at umc. when police arrived - they also apprehended a 13- year-old boy who they say never went inside

assist in the break-in. that suspect is unharmed and so is the homeowner. while we were on scene - we spoke to a woman who got to the scene hours after the incident - claiming to be the step mother of one of the 17-year-olds, but metro would not give her the names of the victims because they're all minors.
