at home -- a store, nearly robbed at gunpoint just before 11. cops say three people -- two men and a woman -- went into a store near eastern and owens.. the men were both carrying weapons. an employee was able to hit the alarm.. locking the doors.. but one of the suspects was able to shoot out the front window. no one was hurt. the suspects got away in a vehicle.. with a fourth suspect inside.. cops eventually caught up to the vehicle and arrested three of the suspects, but a fourth person.. a man.. is still out there.. if you have any information -- call police. good afternoon. i'm rikki cheese. crowds.. and severe weather across the country.. aren't stopping traveler's holiday plans. action news reporter parker collins camped out at mccarran all morning.. and talked to some brave fliers. we're seeing a lot of people... the board is looking like this... some people actually getting in sooner than expected. remember give yourself 90 minutes... more t-s-a security... full body scan. better detection. the lines here are moving quickly. some people wanted to leave today because they figured it would be less crowded. economy lot at terminal three

a cold front is moving in.. and it could mean a white christmas for some parts of southern nevada! let's turn it over to meteorologist carlo falco -- tracking the temperature for las vegas with the action starting tonight. an upper level low pressure system will dive towards the snow associated with this low as it will dump most out over tahoe and the sierra in california but a few rain the best shot for rain showers will be up in the mountains but a few drips and drops may make brief, and there won't be any accumulation in the valley. there may be a few particularly determined snowflakes that could live for a couple minutes behind the showers will be some 50 for the warmest areas in drastically kick up the winds saturday making for a very southwestward. temperatures moderate to start not a bit chilly. expect highs to be right around 55 and mostly sunny skies. let's turn to breaking news out of charlotte, north carolina..

where police killed an armed man inside a shopping mall. this happened at 2 o'clock eastern time -- around 11 o'clock here.. police say two groups of people got into a fight.. a responding officer wound up shooting an armed man who was involved in that fight. that person died on scene. we expect to learn more details throughout the afternoon -- so stay with action news for any updates. a developing story near the gold strike in jean.. where a person was found with a gunshot wound to the head early this morning. action news reporter yasmeen hassan has the details. officers tell me a man was shot in the head outside of a truck in the exact spot i'm standing around 10-30 last night. i was actually out here before they hauled the truck away... ....you can see there is a pool of blood just inches away from the dirvers side door. officers say someone opened fire out here. officers found multiple shell casings belonging to a 45 calibur handgun... ....but the man was only hit

as for the people responsible - they are all out there - and we have no idea who they are. officers tell me 3 or 4 people got into a sedan - hopped right onto the freeway - and got out of here. that man is now in critical condition at umc. police believe he's in his mid 30's. right now - they don't think this was gang related. reporting from jean yasmeen hassan channel 13 action news. an update on our big breaking story from yesterday at 3 -- people who live in a northwest neighborhood are speaking out today.. after 17-year olds were shot during an attempted home invasion yesterday near jones and vegas drive. one teen was killed.. the other was wounded. 17.14.25.00 "there was actually a blood stain on the block wall. it was pretty surreal. 17.10.45.00 "i was laying down in my bedroom and i heard two bangs. they were about 30 seconds apart." police say a 13-year-old boy was outside the home.. acting as a lookout.

a few drips and drops may make their way down from the higher elevations after around 10 tonight. the shot for snow will be very brief, and there won't be any accumulation in the valley. there may be a few particularly determined snowflakes that could live for a couple minutes on grassy surfaces but that's about it and they'll melt very quickly once the shower has passed. behind the showers will be some breezy winds and much cooler temperatures. highs on christmas will only be in the upper 40s with about 50 for the warmest areas in the valley. cooler weather is coming for saturday with the main core of cold air associated with the upper level low directly overhead for then. high pressure will start to push in from the west and will drastically kick up the winds saturday making for a very blustery and raw day. winds could gust to 45mph in the las vegas valley and wind advisories are possible in the southwestward. temperatures moderate to start next week, but stay about 5-8 below normal for this time of year. new year's eve looks sunny if not a bit chilly.

and claims to be a "corporate supervisor." he says he's doing an audit.. and sending a woman to collect cash. once the employee hands it over.. the woman takes off. metro has these pictures of two different women who have participated in this scam at several stores. if you recognize them, call police. a contact 13 consumer alert for anyone who stayed at a hyatt hotel recently. your personal data may have been compromised. the hotel chain says hackers may have accessed credit card numbers... but hyatt hotel officials have not confirmed whether any stolen. the company is now working with security experts to figure out what happened. safeway is issuing a recall that could impact your christmas dinner -- stores in nevada and california are recalling the "traditional stuffing" -- since it contains "undeclared allergens." here's a look at the packaging.. the company says that the stuffing contains soy, milk and wheat -- none of which are listed on the label.. no illnesses have been reported yet, but the company is trying
