9:06 am
if you can believe that. it's been in the community for 60 years. it's a local organization only, started by seven families who had children with intellectual disabilities. 60 years ago there weren't a lot of services available. so what they did is they started a store and they raised funds to hire teachers to teach their children to become citizens of the community. and so we provide job training and job placement for adults with intellectual disabilities. we serve about 3,000 individuals annually. >> wow. you see so many celebrities who got involved, and the exposure, i remember a lot -- >> yeah, a lot. >> celebrity apprentice, so great toe see all that now. >> absolutely. >> the vegas community really rallied behind opportunity village. >> we have people from all across the country come to opportunity village to look at

9:11 am
is the time of return and exchanges. be prepared for long lines and wait times. here to get us ready for more shopping is trae bodge. good morning to you. >> good morning. >> trae, as you know every holiday shopping season is different. what did you notice this year? >> well, the main difference that i noticed, and you probably noticed too, that at the check out line many retailers have the new credit card readers for us to use our chip enabled credit cards that we have been receiving in the mail. that's the biggest change that i've seen. and i partnered with the american consumers about this new technology that allows for completely secure transaction at the register. >> so how is it different? what's encrypted in the card? i use mine all the time, but i never really know what's going
9:12 am
card is that when you use it, you dip it into the machine, you leave it in for a couple seconds, and during that time a one time code is generated that cannot be duplicated or reused. so it allows for a completely secure transaction. and obviously given all the breaches that we've been hearing about in the last year or two, this is fantastic news. >> yes. and what if the retailer that you like to go to doesn't have to reader yet? is shopping there still safe? >> well, that's a great question. in that case you would swipe as you always have, and what's great is if god forbid the retailer experiences a retail breach orconsumer always protected, you have zero on liability. eventually all the retailers will have the new readers that have the dip technology with the extra security. >> what about those of us that like to shop online? are we protected there? >> well, it is a very different
9:13 am
protects you in store, but thankfully online the banking industry is doing a lot there to protect the consumer, also. >> what should we be mindful of as we go to the store, make our returns, buy more things, shop around? >> well, you know, here we are post holiday, probably have some to use. a couple things to keep in mind is where you're going to find the best prices. anything holiday themed you may not be able to wrap your head around it but if you buy from holiday decor and store it away for next year that will be on clearance right now. also, any colder weather apparel because retailers will be trying to clear space for the warmer weather apparel that's coming for spring. and also, post christmas sales will often have -- you'll see maybe damages, and things that have been returned, so be mindful of that, look for the labels, make sure that something isn't damaged before you buy it because you'll have to go back >> right. and you know a lot of the credit
9:14 am
to go online and activate so that's a great way to earn points that people forget about. >> oh, my gosh, royalty programs are so amazing. there are so many retailers that offer great loyalty points. you get advance noise for sales, you get special sales, and then you can accrue points, of course, to have more points to shop again. so there are lots of great options with your credit cards these days. for more information on the security issue, if you go to safe chip card.com you can find out all t people year round and store them or do you like to procrastinate and go at the last minute? i'm curious. >> well, i shop for a living, so i'm always thinking seasonally, but a couple minutes early -- i mean a couple months early. for christmas i was shopping you know, august, september, and i was done very early, because i'm always too busy to shop when we get closer to the holiday. >> makes it less stressful, as well.
9:15 am

9:18 am

sponsor of "the morning regrow your own natural hair. it's possible according to our next guest. here with more is lindsay kay with laser med solutions. >> we do something called laser hair therapy, which is a noninvasive laser to help males or females offering from hair loss. it's completely natural. >> how does it work? we got pictures. >> yes, we apply laser energy directly to the hair follicle. and this is going do increase circulation and blood flow back to the scalp. and this in turn is going to stimulate that growth stage in the hair. >> the person sitting there doesn't have to do anything. >> they don't have to do anything, absolutely not. they're doing an easy 20 minute laser session. the nice part about laser, as well is not only do we have treatment programs but the most popular program we have on the market today is a laser cap.
9:22 am
comfort of their own home. they don't need to come into the clinic and it's easy and convenient for them to regrow back their own natural hair while being at home. >> on their own schedule. >> on their own schedule. doesn't interfere with their own life. >> we were looking at the befores and afters, and they are incredible. how long does it typically take before you see the results? >> the laser starts to take effect in just four to six weeks, and typically patients are seeing a positive change in just the first few months. however everybody is different. it depends on the severity of your hair loss when you come in to the clinic. you do need to come in to see us for an initial visit. and what we do is we do a hair evaluation on you. what we're going to do is we're going to check your hair follicle activity to see if you follicles. a lot of people will look in the mirror and think can this really help me, they're looking, don't see any visible hair there anymore, and a lot of the time when you don't see any visible
9:23 am
an active follicle. you may think that you are too far gone for something like this, but we'll check you. it takes 20 minutes and we'll be able to tell you if laser will be effective for you or not. >> so in certain cases some cases men can be completely bald but still regrow their hair because they -- >> they can be in certain cases, absolutely. absolutely. it does depend on the patient. that's why it's so important that you do come in for that initial visit. even if you're planning on doing a laser cap and purchasing that, and using it at home, we still need to see you for that one initial visit, to tell you yes, this is going to work for you or no, we can't help you. >> you'll tell people upfront. >> absolutely. not everybody is -- they're not going to be a good candidate. they didn't know the technology unfortunately sooner, you catch the hair loss the better the results. a lot of people are thinking i'm female, can this help me. we probably have about a 65% female patient base. >> really?
9:24 am
and the reasoning behind that is female produces more testosterone later in life, so we have a lot of middle aged women because they're noticing the hair fall out we can still help you. it's so traumatic for a female to look in the mirror and be losing their own hair and a lot of time we cover it up with a wig or we try to do tensions, which is further damaging to that hair. and it's embarrassing. this is a way to build back your confidence and get your own natural hair back, which is nice. >> do you feel any pain? >> you do not. again, this is noninvasive, so no pain and no side effects involved with it. >> and again, how often -- how results? >> in the first several months, depending on did severity of the hair loss. when you come in for the initial visit we'll let you know yes or no, you're going to be a candidate for this and how long it's going to take you to get the best results. >> you have a special for morning blend viewers. what is that. >> we do.
9:25 am
evaluation when could in for the initial visit at absolutely no cost to you. we're going to do a free consultation with you to answer have. and we're also giving you a free first clinical laser session so you can see what it's like so you know it's pain-free and how easy it is. >> where are you located. >> washington and rainbow, so 777 north rainbow boulevard, and we are suite 200. so you can give us a call today. visit. if you call today, we'll do that evaluation at absolutely no cost and let you know if this is something that would work for you or not. >> lindsay, thank you so much. >> thank you for having me. >> laser med solutions offers a free consultation and evaluation, in addition to a free first clinical laser session for anyone who calls and books a consult. it's today only. for more on the latest technology to control hair loss and stimulate new growth check out the website on your screen
