a nevada deputy is recovering from a gunshot wound....after he responed to domestic violience last night in storey county. when he got there...authorities opened fire.. hitting the deputy and one other person. the officer shot back and stutts gave up. stutts is injured ...but is okay....he's been booked in charges. the deputy and by stander also doing fine. now to a deadly overnight fire in connecticut. fire crews were called to a bridgeport condo complex around three-thirty this morning. there they found smoke coming from the windows. six people were inside... all made it out except for an 18-nt d lad entry, knocked the fire down and proceeded with a primary search. a ladder company crew ventilated the window on the front side here and made entry over a portable ladder. a ung female occupant unconscious on the second floor.

under her crib. she did not survive. two other children and three adults were hospitalized for smoke inhalation. the cause of the fire is under investigation... but officials say the smoke alarms were disconnected. the fire was contained to one unit. action news is following the latest development out of oregon. a group of armed protesters has taken over a building... in a federal wildlife refuge... in oregon. it's being led by a member of the bundy family. so far the protestors have vowed to stay indefinitely. ammon bundy told cnn... they're protesting the governments control over the land. show support for dwight and steven hammond -- a pair of father and son ranchers jailed on an arson conviction from back in 2001. the father served three months.. the son, one year. a judge recently ruled their conviction too short.. sentencing them both to another five years starting monday. ammon budy is the son of nevada rancher cliven bundy. about a year and a half ago.. cliven led a showdwon with b-l-m after they came after his cattle when he refused to pay grazing fees. but it became much more tense...after what supporters called...a constitutional stand against federal authority. a militia group came out and refused to allow the takeover of the cattle. in the end... the b-l-m retreated citing safety concerns and authorities fridayo oregon protestors. turning now to your red, white and blue 2016 political coverage. president obama's taking another shot at gun control. sources say expanding
