authorities are working now to find out the man's motive. and now to the officer in boston... we've just learned that officer was not in uniform and was authorities aren't releasing any specific information on that person. death-vo breaking here at home -- an inmate has died at a correction center up in carson city... and now authorities are working to figure out why. he's been identified as 67- year-old sherwood jordan. he had been in prison since 2004...serving a life sentenced for lewdness with a minor and sexual assault with a person under 16. an autopsy is set to take place, to find out how he died. developing now, a scandal at c-e-s! u-s marshals raided a chinese hoverboard booth...for suspected patent infringement! here's the video from bloomberg business.

"i was high on crack and i was high on meth. i did not do the shooting at opened fire on his neighbors, and has no problem with them. but that's not what his mom says. he told us paul did want to get revenge on the family for killing her pomeranian. he didn't tell me he tried to kill the guy he said i just wanted to scare him so he won't bother you anymore mom applegate's mom says he had just moved in with her to try and get a new start to his life. he's now facing attempted murder charges. pause for animation justice for the family of shauna tiaffay. both men involved in her brutal murder are now serving their time behind bars. noel stevens will spend the next 42-years to life in prison

shauna's husband george tiaffay... in exchange for killing her. shauna was beat to death back in 20- 12... her family now tells us they can finally begin to move forward. paula stokes shauna's sister 13:10:43:20 "we go through all of this and at the end of the day, we don't have her and it doesn't bring her back. we get some sort of solace knowing that noel & george have been given the maximum sentence." george tiaffay, a former las vegas firefighter, is currently serving his life sentence for his role in shauna's death. testimony is underway right now in the trial of a former church pastor accused of sexually assaulting girls in his congregation. otis holland's attorney says the accusers might have made up the stories because they thought they loved him. holland was the former united faith church leader here in town. the 59-year old has pleaded not guilty to charges. he is expected to testify. if convicted, he faces up to

meantime, president obama is taking his gun control pitch on the road... he laid out his reasons for the increased restrictions, live on c-n-n. po-125th (president obama) if we could combine gun safety with sensible background checks and some other checks, we're not going to eliminate gun violence but we will lessen it. the president says his executive actions have been overly politicized and mischaracterized, he wants to remind the publics he has no plan to take away everybody's guns. a new cnn poll shows that 67- percent of the public supports obama's measures... but 57-percent don't think it would be effective in reducing gun related deaths. here at home -- a district judge is delaying his decision on approving the new education savings account program. the voucher system would allow parents to use their allowance from the state on what they choose, including private school tuition. education savings accounts febraury first. the program is currently being

the solar industry battle is heating up. the fight is going to the man at the top -- governor brian sandoval... because he put three members of the public utilities commission in charge. you'll remember solar customers are fighting the p-u-c... to not raise the base service charge for solar customers or cut the amount of money they'll be paid back. our investigative team talked with the governor about these rate changes. 14:03 gov: there's a very important balance here. you have 17,000 rooftop solar customers. you have 700,000 approximately nv energy customers who are essentially subsidizing that. n-v energy says non-solar customers pay about a dollar and 8 cents per month to subsidize their solar neighbors. because of these rate changes, solar-city has already cut 500 jobs and is moving most of its operations out of state. the governor says he'll help the laid-off solar workers find jobs, and solar customers who are unhappy with the puc's
