one of their officers was shot this morning. kurt stockinger was working in the drug control unit as a plain-clothes officer when he was shot in the leg. the suspect is now in

the officer is expected to be okay. no word on what prompted the shooting. a number of tourists were injured today when two men carrying knives attempted to storm a hotel in egypt. at least two swedish tourists were stabbed but it's unclear if any others were hurt. security guards shot both of the suspects, killing one. the attack took place at the popular bella vista hotel in the resort town of hurghada. the mother of the so-called "affluenza" teen appeared before a texas judge today. tonya couch arrived in texas more than a week after mexican authorities detained her with her son in mexico. she is accused of helping her son-- ethan-- flee the country after he missed a juvenile probation meeting. ethan couch is on probation for killing four people in a drunk driving crash in 2013. ethan couch is still in mexico. last week a mexican judge granted the teen a temporary stay halting deportation proceedings. new trouble for a clark county school district teacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student. a new accuser is stepping

assaulted by the teacher 4-years ago. brittany freer claims kristy yegge gave her drugs.. then took advantage of her. 11.07.52.00 "once i went over to her house she proceeded to give me prescription drugs, and because i was in a hyper emotional state i took." freer says she fell asleep.. but when she woke up.. she says yegge was undressing her. and becuase of the drugs.. she says she didn't have the strength to stop her. freer didn't report what allegedly happened until 2014. metro says it didn't pursue charges because there wasn't enough evidence. yegge's attorney sent us a statement saying in part.. quote: "my client is steadfastly maintaining her innocence regarding these allegations.. and i intend to defend her accordingly." the d-a says they're still reviewing yegge's case involving the student at veterans tribute career and technical academy. until then.. yegge is on home assignment. alright - so everybody's talking about it - the powerball jackpot has reached

a weak system will form at the tail end of the cold front but it'll form over land and will be moisture starved which means lots of clouds, but not a lot of rain. that leaves saturday with a mixture of sun and clouds, increasing the cloud cover in the afternoon and evening. the best shot for any precipitation will come saturday evening and overnight into sunday morning and will be spotty at best. really this is an isolated sprinkle kind of rain with up to one one-hundredth of an inch possible in the heaviest showers. another break in the clouds comes for sunday with partly cloudy skies before yet another system pushes into central and northern california bringing more thick cloud cover

in nevada back in october. odom has now been moved to a private rehab facility near the home of his wife khloe kardashian. we're also learning odom is now moving around without a walker. new details in the case of a north carolina woman and her ex-fbi father.. charged with murdering her husband. for the first time.. we're now hearing the 9-1-1 call.. and learning more about what officers found at the scene. abc's linzie janis has the latest. sot from 911// tom martens - "my daughter's husband my son-in-law got in a fight w my daughter. i intervened and i think, he's in bad shape." calm and collected ... that's former fbi agent tom martens, telling a 9-1-1 dispatcher he may have beat his son-in-law to death. sot: dispatcher: "what do you mean, 'he's in bad shape?'" tom martens: "he's bleeding all over and i may have killed him." in this newly released 9-1-1 call, for the first time we hear marten's direct account of how the night of august 2nd turned deadly for 39-year- old jason corbett. sot: dispatcher: "what

him in the head?with a baseball bat. he was choking my daughter. he said, 'i'm going to kill her.'" when officers arrived on the scene ... martens told them he was woken up by an argument between corbett and his 31-year-old daughter, molly martens corbett? nats: molly is crying. on the 9-1-1 call, you can hear her sobbing in the background ... then following the dispatcher's request to try c-p-r on her husband...as she cries. nats: molly martens-corbett: "i'm certified?i just can't think?one, two, three, four?" corbett was pronounced dead at the scene. the father and daughter -now charged with second degree murder and voluntary manslaughter - say it was self defense. but in a search warrant just obtained by abc news? the officer writes that the struggle described by tom martens "?was not consistent with the evidence at the scene." while the criminal case is just beginning, family of martens-corbett say physical abuse is unlike her. sot: michael earnest/ uncle: "molly was just a wonderful mother and that was just not

as expected.. president obama vetoed legislation today.. passed by the house and senate.. that would have repealed the affordable care act. it's the latest of many repeal measures pushed by republican lawmakers since 2010.. after obama signed the a-c-a into law. this version would have also cut federal funding for planned parenthood. the bill now goes back to the
