from the strip.... with more. michael... talking to locals and visitors - they all say this is a slap in the face to the history and culture of las vegas. some of them believe it's going to turn people away and slash mgm's profits - but companies leaders disagree. "we may see some people that are more upset than others and we've had to calculate that in, but this is a value proposition for our customers" the company has not decided the exact amount you'll have to pay - but if you're using an mgm lot just for a few hours - the fee will be very very small. if you're parking overnight, it'll be a little higher, but no more than 10 dollars - and it's for that day only - even if you're a hotel guest - but, that overnight pass will give you free access to all of the mgm parking lots on the strip
5:01 pm
it will also cost to valet your car. all of these fees will support a 90-million dollar project to renovate mgm's existing parking lots and build a brand new one that will give people very easy access to the new t-mobile arena. "i think in the long run, when they see the improvements that we make, they might find it to be a worry investment." these fees take effect in april and locals will have a grace period of free parking for a short time - but as i said earlier - a lot of people are not happy about this. i'll show you what they have to say - coming up at 6. live from the las vegas strip - michael burton - channel 13 action news. police have a suspect in custody following an apparent burglary attempt.. and a massive search on the ground.. and from the air. action news reporter parker collins has details on the dramatic final minutes of the pursuit. this is who it was all about... the guy they loaded into an ambulance is the guy police
