but first...... action news live at 3 begins with an update on a story we first brought you as breaking. a man is dead...after getting hit by a semi-truck. good afternoon. i'm rikki cheese. the crash happened just before 10 on i-15 near jean. nevada highway patrol says they're looking into what the man was doing there, but witnesses told troopers they saw him moving in and out of the travel lane just prior to being struck. the interstate is back open. and an investigation underway...after a woman was hit and killed by a car. witnesses told us the woman was standing on the median on sahara near valley view last night...when she tried to cross the street. the driver is cooperating with the police investigation. right now, they don't believe alcohol or speed played any role in the crash. now to a story you'll see first on action news -- what started out as a shooting led to an entire neighbhorhood being evacuated. a man is in the hospital with gunshot wounds... and right now, the shooters are on the run. one viewer managed to get closer to the action than any news crew. take a look.

home?arriving in massachusetts after being detained for 40 days in iran.. meanwhile, three of the ex-prisoners are now getting much-needed medical treatment at a u.s. military base in germany. their first stop out of iran was geneva, switzerland where washington post reporter jason rezaian met the u-s official who helped negotiate his release.. rezaian was held for more than a year and a half on charges of espionage.. ((sot)) ali rezaian, jason rezaian's brother: "i think he's doing okay. i mean, he's mostly been neglected for a long time.." former marine amir hekmati spent more than four years in the notorious evin prison.. his sister.. beaming with joy at the news he was freed.. flint, michigan today...to help them with that ongoing water crisis. just yesterday, troops passed out 5- thousand free water bottles and filters for families. if you didn't know, the city has been dealing with toxic lead contamination since 2014! now, even democratic presidential candidates are weighing in. (hillary clinton) "when the children of majority black flint, michigan have been drinking and bathing in lead poisoned water for more than a year making sure all americans have clear air and water isn't just a health issue, it's a civil rights issue. (cheers) but her statements are upsetting michigan's governor... who says the former secretary of state has no right to "politicizing the issue." there's a state of emergency now in the city.
