ktnv.com an update now on a story we first reported as breaking news. a standoff in north las vegas came to a peaceful end.. hours after it started. police say they were called to a house near lake mead and civic center around this afternoon for a domestic situation. after they arrived.. a man took off.. leading to a barricade situation. a man and woman were taken into custoddy about three hours later. new tonight: (stacey cope, wife of crash survivor) "it's crushed like a tin can ... and my husband is still alive." by looking at this mangled jeep.. it's hard to imagine anyone survived the crash. but one man did.. after state troopers say he was hit by a 24 year-old who is now facing dui charges. action news reporter mahsa saeidi is live near the 215 with the interview you'll see only on action news. mahsa. steve .. that driver was on the wrong side of the highway early sunday morning.

here at home.. it was all about tubing.. traffic and tickets on mount charleston today. because of the dr. king holiday.. thousands of people showed up to play in the snow.. but it also caused a traffic mess. by the end of the day.. nhp had to pull more than 15 cars from the snow. by noon.. they shut down lee canyon highway near foxtail due to limited parking. nhp also says illegal parking was a huge problem. on average.. they've written 70 to 75 tickets a day. senior sgt. thomas higgins, nevada highway patrol "we have had one instance where it complete blocked at the circle before the ski resort-- people had to push the car because it was on ice so the ambulance could come through" nhp also wants to remind everyone to pick up after themselves because many areas have been littered with trash on busy weekends. periods of cloudy conditions and slightly above average temps will be the there for most of this week.
