we also saw lots of accidents reported on the freeways. roads are starting to dry out now, as we haven't seen much rain in this area since around 4:30. reporting live, bryan callahan, channel 13 action news the las vegas strip became the backdrop for a new blockbuster overnight. action news was there as a crash scene was filmed outside aria. this is all for the latest film in the 'bourne identity' series starring matt damon. metro is telling action news there's a section of the boulevard being closed off again tonight for another shoot. but it's only the first of many movies that will be shot in las vegas this year. action news reporter michael burton tells us what local film officials are doing to bring

"we want to get them to film here and we want them to know that it's not about just filming hangover movies and casinos, it's about anything you need." in twenty fifteen - clark county issued nearly 450 film permits. one of the them - for the fifth installment in the "bourne identity" series - but most of the them - for very small productions like commericals and reality television. "the one thing that i saw we were really missing here was the ability to track true hollywood productions here in las vegas." that's why nevada film officials were so exctied, today, to unveil las vegas' largest production facility yet - vegas production studios. "from the crews to the equipment to all the specialist, the graphic designers, and the editors and all of that, and we do all of that right here in htis production facility." stand-up: the nevada film industry has come such a long way, and thanks to this room, it can now go even further. soon, every single wall and the

couch and his mom ran to mexico when prosecutors found out..... he may have violated.... his probation. couch killed.... -4- people in a drunk driving accident.... two years ago.. he was 16.... at the time. new developments..... in that ohio police officer shot and killed.... in the line of duty. we're learning his death could have been prevented. here's the 9-1-1 call.... that came minutes... too late. "911. yes i'm in danger. looking to kill a cop. he's got my house keys, he's got my truck keys, he's got um guns on him. he's already beaten me and threatened to kill me. i don't know-- he's coming home, i gotta go." after that call.... officer thomas cottrell was killed. police have a suspect... in custody. two people are killed and 18 others injured.... in a greyhound bus crash.....

authorities say.... the bus overturned and landed on a median..... along highway-101. traffic was backed up for several miles.... as emergency crews cleared the scene. no word.... on what caused the crash. there were no other vehicles.... involved. expect some more traffic delays in downtown las vegas. n-dot is doing some drilling related to "project neon." it's happening along both sides of i-15 between sahara and the 95 at mlk. the work is scheduled to begin around 9pm so look for lane closures in the area. up next in tonight's financial focus.. good news at the pump for just about every place except las vegas. we'll have details on a new low national average for gas. and.... a scandal takes over the australian open.. amid rumors of match-fixing. now... the athletes and investigators want answers!

all of the big local gaming wynn resorts.. which was up a little more than 1-percent in today's trading. the nation's top brokerage firm is at risk of losing its 'number-1' ranking. the wall street journal reports merrill lunch could slip into second place behind morgan stanley. the paper also reports merrill lynch is at risk of losing a number of brokers when retention packages expire this month. finally.. analysts say gas prices should continue to fall. according to triple-a.. the national average for a gallon of regular is now $1.89. we're paying a lot more around las vegas right now.. gallon. that's actually 20-cents more than this time last year. that's tonight's 'financial focus.' let's go to bryan . a band of showers is approaching from our west with our current storm system.

will be rung out as it intercepts the sierra, we could still see sprinkles to light rain rain in the las vegas valley this afternoon and evening. the system moves out overnight and we'll see some of the cloud cover clear out by morning. high pressure will begin building over the region tomorrow, which will mean warmer temperatures and not as much cloud cover. skies will clear to partly cloudy by wednesday afternoon and highs will top out in the low 60s. mainly sunny skies are expected thursday then partly cloudy on friday with highs in the low 60s both days. our next system moves in over the weekend, which will mean more cloud cover and breezy winds on both saturday and sunday, with highs remaining in the low 60s on saturday, then dropping to the upper 50s on sunday. as the system makes an exit it will continue to drag in cool air and keep our highs in the upper 50s for the start to next week, although we will also see a clearing on monday. by tuesday we'll warm back to the low 60s and skies will stay

university college london found that couples who adopted a new and positive health behavior were more successful than those doing it on their own. for the study researchers followed nearly 4thousand married and cohabitating couples and studied their unhealthy habits in three areas: smoking obesity and physical activity. here's what they found... 48 percent of men were able to stop smoking if their partner also quit. compare that to just 8percent who had partners who did not quit. for women the success rate was half. when it came to physical activity both men and women had about a 66- percent success rate starting an exercise routine with their partner... versus about 24-percent if they started alone. 36-percent of women lost weight if their partners joined them in a weight loss plan... compared to 15percent without a supportive partner. the men had a 26- percent success rate with a partner... and 10-percent losing weight alone. it's unclear why the relationship matters...but having some support or a dose of plain ole healthy competition may just be enough
