including this 2-year-old and this grandmother to toxic tap water. elizabeth tag: the governor says he just got more money from the state to help flint residents and he is seeking more federal funding. but at this point.. many residents just want clean water again and it is still unclear when that will happen. eh, abc news, ny. an action news update on the standoff in oregon. the armed protestors led by nevada rancher ammon bundy are now saying they have no plans to leave the wildlife refuge they've taken over in oregon. the group says the fbi and other federal authorities are "terrorizing" the community, and that their armed militia will act as protectors for them. they now call themselves "citizens for constitutional freedom." oregon governor kate brown is speaking out on the standoff. she says the feds are not doing enough to bring this situation to an end and she's calling on them to take action gov. kate brown (d) oregon "federal authorities must move quickly to end the occupation and hold all the wrongdoers accountable. the spectacle of lawlessness must end." no word yet from law

standoff peacefully. the militia has been calling for oregon ranchers to stop paying the blm, like cliven bundy did here in bunkerville an action news update on a former oklahoma city police officer.. accused of sexual assault. 29-year old daniel holtzclaw was sentenced to life in prison today. a judge handed down prison terms totaling 263 years.. after holtzclaw was convicted on 4 counts of first- degree rape and 14 other charges. prosecutors say holtzclaw targeted and sexually assaulted women while on patrol. his defense lawyer is already planning to appeal. former pharmaceutical c-e-o martin shkreli says he has a date with congress. yesterday, he tweeted out a photo of a subpoena asking him to testify before the house committee on oversight and reform on january 26-th. he would be questioned about the prescription drug market. shkreli gained notoriety when

an aids drug by some five-thousand percent. he is embroiled in a federal criminal case for alleged securities fraud. some frightening moments at the l-a zoo earlier today when an employee fell into the gorilla enclosure. it happened around 8:30 this morning. firefighters rushed to the zoo and helped him out of the enclosure. zoo officials say the employee was never in danger.. but it's still unclear how it happened. the worker is in fair condition with a broken leg. a developng story out of northwestern arizona. an f-16 fighter jet has crashed. it happened near luke air force base...about 120-miles from phoenix. right now, we only know the pilot was on board. investigators are trying to figure out what caused the crash. search crews are out right now trying to find the wreckage and any survivors. millions of people in the mid-atlantic states are bracing for a major snowstorm this weekend.. but a smaller storm system is already causing travel nightmares around washington d- c. motorists found themselves in total gridlock from 2-inches of fresh snow that caused a number

royal palace to some major scientific breakthroughs in space it's one of three trending headlines we are following today. you can now take a private tour of buckingham palace. google has just unveiled a youtube- 360 video of the royal residence. you can watch it on your smartphone or p-c. there could be another planet in our solar system. researchers at the california institute of technology have found evidence of an object that could be a real ninth planet. the new find has the highly creative nickname of "planet nine." the researchers haven't actually seen the planet, but they do have other evidence to support their claim. pluto was considered the 9th planet in our solar system, but was demoted to "dwarf planet" status in 2006. and.. astronaut scott kelly has made an amazing breakthrough on the international space station. some help, choose a tax preparer wisely. the internal revenue service says look for the preparer's tax identification number. avoid people who base their fee on a percentage of your refund. and note if your preparer doesn't ask for receipts. next, never sign a blank tax return. and finally, never give your personal information over the phone or online. good news for walmart employees today. the retail giant says walmart and sam's clubs employees hired before the start of the year will soon get a raise to at least 10-dollars an hour. walmart says it will apply to more than a million u-s workers.. starting february 20th. walmart says it will bring its average hourly wage for a full-time employee is just over 13 dollars an hour. the fight continues here in nevada to raise the minimum wage. yesterday, a judge in carson city ruled the ballot measure could move forward. supporters are trying to get 55 thousand signatures to put their proposal on the november ballot. right now, our minimum wage is 8-25 an hour, or 7-25 an hour if the employer offers health insurance.

but if you think that eating at a non-chain is healthier... that may not always be the case. researchers sampled dishes in restaurants in boston, san francisco and little rock. they found that the meals at independent eateries were just as calorie-laden as chain restaurants. however, you might not know that because the calories aren't always on the menu. according to their research, the average dinner at a non-chain restaurant had about 12-hundred calories. while that may be comparable to a chain restaurant, it's still italian and chinese restaurants tended to pile on the calories... while greek, vietnamese and mexican tended to have the least amount. the study's authors recommend eating in moderation, and making healthy choices like ordering for half- portions or getting dressing on the side. the results were published this week in the journal of nutrition and dietetics. for today's health minute, i'm jennifer whalen. now an important warning for parents on indoor tanning. a new study is linking your
