help identifying a suspect.. who they say... pointed a gun at a crowd in front of the bellagio on friday night. metro released this picture of the man officers fired at least two shots at....at this time, he is in custody, but with little information. he's still being referred to as john doe. talk around the strip is he was a regular street performer in front of the bellagio fountains. police are asking anyone with knowledge about him to give them a call. an action news update tonight on a deadly shooting here in the valley the coroner has identified the victim as 23-year-old "arthur earl colwell". colwell was killed yesterday after being shot in northeast las vegas. officers were called out yesterday morning to an apartment complex near owens and mary jane. authorities say the colwell was riding a bicycle when a pickup truck pulled up. someone in that truck then fired several rounds... hitting the man. he was rushed to the hospital but later died. police have not released a motive or description on a

a strong earthquake rocked alaska early this morning. the us geological survey says the 7 point one magnitude quake hit just southwest of anchorage. two smaller earthquakes -- a magnitude four, and a three-point-two -- hit within 30 minutes after the first one. officials say one home was extremely damaged in an explosion and thirty other homes have been evacuated... as firefighters, policemen and gas utility workers continue to work on the gas leak the earthquake caused. now for the latest weather developments here in the valley. here's a live look outside right now, we've been enjoying some beautiful temperatures this weekend, but will they stick around? let's check in with action news meteorologist karla huelga for the latest. karla? a weak system will push through the area starting tonight into tomorrow morning. this will keep winds breezy

missing friday night. they were facing charges of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and torture. the sheriff's office says the escapees got to the roof by cutting through steel bars and plumbing tunnels. they used sheets to rapel to the ground and took off. the local sheriff's office says all of its resources are being used to find the inmates. new information tonight a large piece of curved metal found along the southern thai coast, could be from missing "malaysia airlines flight"-- 370. thai and malaysian officials are investigating the discovery. matching panel numbers and hinges can be seen on the riveted piece of metal. malaysia airlines flight 370 vanished nearly two years ago. it was flying from malaysia, to beijing, when it disappeared from radar. 239 passengers and crew were on board. with that historic storm pounding the east coast, las vegas is looking to help those in need. this weekend united blood

it happened today as the republican presidential front-runner was speaking at a rally in iowa. when trump started talking about radical islamic terrorism, two men on the balcony held up a white banner with the words "stop hate" written on it. supporters then began booing and chanting. the two men were escorted out of the building. earlier this month a muslim woman wearing a hijab was escorted out of a campaign event in south carolina. actor matt damn is weighing in on the recent controversy surrounding the oscars and what some are calling a lack of diversity... matt damon is praising membership changes from the film academy designed to increase diversity among its membership and oscar nominees. the actor was at the sundance film festival in park city, utah to promote a film he's producing, "manchester by the sea." "but look it's a first step. and it's an important one, but it's just a first step. and this is not going to be solved overnight. it's huge, systemic in injustices around race and gender in the industry and in the country."
