for a place to spend the night... after their home goes up in flames. their home near lake mead and warm springs was actually one of 7 that caught fire of the here's a look at all those fires. crews say many of the blazes were caused by squatters. here's cell phone video you'll only see on action news... showing an apartment fire. the manager of that apartment complex says this is the third time squatters have caused the building to go up in flames. here's video from back in november of the aftermath of another fire caused by the damage is about 150 thousand dollars. the manager says they're still figuring out what to do. a trip to the gas station turned into a fight for survival... a mother does everything she can to protect not only herself, but also her two young kids. angie: i was yelling at him my children are speaking out about the terrifying attack! it's

determined to be a minor... and is no longer being held at here at home-- a crash sends one person to the hospital and another behind bars! here's a look at the aftermath of this three-car crash at valley view and sahara. police say last night, a woman ran a red light and hit the other cars. she was arrested on suspicion of driving drunk. a 74-year-old man was seriously injured, but is expected to be okay. nevada highway patrol is still trying to figure out what caused a motorcycle rider to crash into the back of a semi truck... killng him. the deadly crash happened yesterday on i-15 near valley of fire. 3 cars total were involved in the crash. the motorcyclist dead on-scene. the most famous waterfall in america is going water-less. up next, find out when and why niagara falls is going high and dry. and taking a live look at the las vegas strip -- headliner mariah carey has a big announcement about her residency! all the details next! an action news update now on...

cys!mtoday, michigan's attorney general announced he's adding two new leaders to the investigation. those people are a prosecutor and an ex-fbi chief. they're trying to determine if any state laws were violated in pumping the contaminated water from the flint river to the people. (bill schuette/michigan attorney general) "the water right now in flint, they're not using it to water their yard, right, in the winter? and secondly, if you can't drink it, you shouldn't pay for it. and i think it's an outrage to expect that people would pay for something that you can't drink." a state of emergency is in effect for the count. niagara falls will no longer be running...but only temporarily. the new york state parks department will de-water the falls... as part of a renovation to the american side of niagara falls. here's video from when the falls was shut off before. this time, the water will be diverted to make repairs to the
