to the typical american diet, plant based eating is shown to increasehave more fiber, more unsaturday rated fats, and be more nutrient dense, more vitamins, minerals and plant nutrients. >> does this mean you have to get up meat entirely? >> that's one of the most common misperceptions is that plant based eating is exclusion, it means no meat. anan actually it just means eat more plants. a recent survey showed just that. while 2/3 of adults, over a thousand people survived, 2/3 associated, knew what plant based eating was or ate that way sometimes. 40% felt that it meant no meat. and just over half actually thought it was some version of vegetarian or vegan. plant based eating actually does include in many cases modest amounts of fish, poultry and

the conversion prophecy explores these questions and more. michael solomon joins us with an inside look at his new novel. how are you, my friend? >> good morning. how are you this morning? >> doing very well. let's talk about the book. the conversion prophecy. some would suggest that it's about who is in charge really in charge of the world economy. explain that. >> well, what i've developed was a theory which is unbelievably coming true as we speak, a lot of things that i outlined in the book that are happening. basically it deals with four ways to defeat a nation without an army. one of them is through the economy. and basically what i've developed was a theory of islam taking all their money from drugs and gambling and oil and purchasing stocks at various
9:42 am
up all over the world and consolidating corporations until they own the food industry, water industry, and telecommunications and they demand that the world either acquiesce and convert to islam or they will starve them into submission. and it takes place 20 years from now, but things that i outlined in the book have come true. it's surprising. for example, i talk about verizon in the book becoming the only telecommunications company in the world and owns the internet. and they buy aol and looking to go after other companies. i talk about there's only going to be two national airlines in the united states with -- by 2020, and all of a sudden us air merges with american and we're down to two. we're down to three. so what's going to happen within ten years they are going to immediately buy up the other one and we'll be back down to two. it's frightening what's happening, but if food industry

and looking to get together, and conagra wants to buy it all. the question is does anybody really know who the ceos are? are they converts to islam? sympathizers or what are they doing? they buy up enough stock to buy under the radar and own all the corporations and sectors in the economy. >> obviously there's a pretty sensitive subject. what inspired you to write about this in the moment in time? >> well, what happened was about four years ago i wrote an article on the four ways to defeat a nation without an army, one of them being economics. and then during the bail out the saudis purchased five-point -- 4.9% of sit city group stock for $13 million -- $13 billion loan at 11%, the first time finance came to the united states. the palms hotel in vegas was purchased by a muslim family, which is totally against the covenants of the koran.
9:44 am
why are they getting involved in corporate america? and i suddenly put two and two together and i said you know what? what if they started buying it up the way disney bought the land in orlando, florida, opened up 60 real estate brokerage houses and started buying up land here and there and next thing you know they own orange county florida. so that's where it came from. but the conversion prophecy has a happy ending. it's a novel and a novemberyel is a fairy tale. >> you spent a lot of -- >> it was a -- >> i'm sorry. you spent a lot of your career in the intelligence field. did any of that go into the writing? i mean, is it a novel? there is a little kind of silver lining of truth within it? >> there is a little bit, but
