you got no -- anybody in this place? you know who has it is the king of diamonds, paying tribute to neil diamond with a live performance in just a bit. it's our topic of the day, and this came out of left field, or the end zone, as it were, or the red zone. sports fever finally hitting our valley again. we don't even have a nhl and we're moving on. the big rumor from yesterday could the oakland raiders, nfl franchise, be heading to sin city? a meeting is being held today. why is that? gambling? you nlv bought a 42-acre piece of land that could house and may house a new stadium for the unlv running rebels which could also be used for possible nfl team. we're talking a big stadium. what is your thoughts on this?
9:02 am
really big boom to the economy, great, what do you think on this? >> they bought the land, probably going to build it but will they come? i don't think so. i think a lot of locals would like to see a nfl here. people think they can throw the game and i don't think it's ever going to happen but we can wish and dream and hope. but i don't think it's going to happen. >> i think legally with the state if the las vegas sands owns the place where the thing is being played, no las vegas sands property will be able to do nfl, either nfl gambling or gambling specific had i related to that time, because i think that's how the nhl is doing it possibly with that new arena, i think all the mgm resorts, not positive, will not be able to bet on nhl game. it will never happen. each if the owner wants it to happen, it will never happen,
9:03 am
they hate us. we are the reason why people pay very close attention, people love fantasy sports, putting money down on the games but for whatever reason they hate us. >> apparently i heard that the person that is in talks right now is a low level person, a low level owner, so he's not high up the food chain and i don't know necessarily that he can make a decision but this laying the trying to do. i don't know if it's negotiation tactics or what it could be but i think people are talking, excited about it. they hope this can become a reality. we'll have to wait to see. >> they're trying to get a new stadium in oakland and have the -- >> look how long it took us to get an ikea. how long have we been talking about ikea? >> now it's time to go to sports. we want to hear from you about this. what are your thoughts on potential nfl team? the oakland raiders, they're
9:04 am
share comments on facebook and twitter, vegasmorningblend.com. audio guy, very angry at us. ben, i just made fun of the oakland raiders, his favorite. >> pay backs. right now are you at risk for radon? the colorless, odorless gas is the leading cause of lung cancer among nonsmokers. presentations start tomorrow on how to test for it in your home. >> jamie roice-gomes is the coordinator with the university of nevada cooperative extension. she joins us with more. how are you? >> great. how are you? >> doing great. that doesn't sound fan. >> it's a colorless, odorless, tasteless radioactive gas that comes out of earth from uranium. it can cause lung cancer. it can accumulate in your home. >> are we at higher risk because of where we live? >> radon knows no gio political zones, doesn't care what home you live in as we have seen one home can have elevated radon
9:05 am
can have low concentrations. >> in the same neighborhood? other. >> and it's only in the home? >> yes, it's in the home. >> is it because it -- >> the radon comes into your home, and it can accumulate in the home, and then it can cause -- >> there is not a room for homes. >> yeah. >> we all have smoke detectors, detector. is there a ray door detector or something that you have to have a specialist come in. >> we are giving out the free radon test kits from now until the end of february, and you can pick up a radon test kit at 8050 paradise road or call us on our hotline 1-888-radon-test. in this box it is -- >> wow. >> a test kit, and all you do you put this in the lowest lived in part of your home, stick this on a coffee table, leave it there for three days, and mail
9:06 am
>> what do you put in there? >> this is -- just is an air sample. leave it out. >> it will fall into it? >> essentially, yes. we mail it off in this kit and you get the results in about two weeks. >> do you have to pay for that? >> no, it's free. right now the best time to test for radon, they're the highest right now, so that's why we give out free test kits. >> there is a map we want to take a look at that shows potential radon heart zips. what are we looking at here? >> the red areas are areas where greatest occurrence of radon is. orange is moderate occurrence occurrence. we have not tested every home in the state of me vade a. we've only -- results from homes of tested. so basically you shouldn't be following this. one home can have elevated radon, the home next door can have low levels. >> it seems like places like -- seems to be very highly affected
9:07 am
>> there is not that many homes tested out there. >> so the statistics mate be swayed because there's not enough of a selection. >> yes. >> i'm not sure what the mathematical term is. >> once we get one of these kits we leave it out for i a couple days then send it to you. how do you test for it? >> all you do is you open up this cap. >> three days of air. >> we send it back to you the and you'll test it? >> oh, and then actually the labs are going to test it. and they do something, basically testing the radioactive particles that decay from radon in this, and then they send you back the results. >> incredible. i know it's national radon action month. you have presentations all over the valley over the next -- the next three days. >> i do, yes. >> what is in the presentation? >> and so i'll go over what is radon, the health risks of radon, how to test for it, how
9:08 am
radon problem, and then we'll give out free radon test kits. >> we have the presentation on the screen. you can go on the website, right? >> definitely. radon nd.com. >> let's say we have a radon problem, do we have to knock the house down and start over? >> no, not at all. it's fixable, depending on what type of foundation you have. for a slab foundation you can fix it or you would hire someone, but they drill three to four-inch home in your foundation, hook it up to a piping system that runs 24 hours a day and sucks that radar and disburses it. >> in the atmosphere and goes away? >> yes. lowering the levels in your home. >> thank you so much. >> thanks for having me. >> pretty powerful information. get your free test kit at presentations throughout the valley saturday through monday. you can head to that website listed. the number is also on your screen.

seven pounds per week with no exercise. possible. >> here to tell us how is weight loss system. didn't having you. >> thanks for having me. >> welcome back. previously you discussed you lost over 80 pounds. >> six years ago. you went from a size 20 to size 8. right. >> how have you been able to keep it off that long? >> because my system is different from the ones that are usually offered. because we actually identify the problems with your metabolism and correct those problems, we're able to get you to shed the body fat at an accelerated rate, without hunger, without cravings, without exercise but most importantly keep it off. we're all good at losing weight, it's keeping it off that's the hard part. >> what is it that prevents people from losing the weight. >> the main things we're seeing is specific problems with
9:13 am
so for example, if we're talking about toxicity, you might have one particular toxin that can cause a 32-pound weight gain in a year. if you don't know you have that toxin, how are you going to address it and fix it? if you're just reducing calories or just increasing exercise you'll temporarily see a change, but you'll know that your program didn't work because as soon as you're done with the program you start gaining that weight back. >> and that's not right. candida is something you mentioned. >> that's right. it's an overgrowth that can cause that 32-pound weight gain. it gives you the symptoms you're seeing on the screen right now. it's not very obvious to you but can really stop your progress if you're trying to lose weight. >> can we get rid of it. >> yes, you can. the good news is you don't necessarily have to go to your doctor to see -- if you notice you have the symptoms, there is a simple test you can do for free. so first thing in the morning
9:14 am
and before you eat or drink or take anything you're going to put saw saliva in the glass, and you're going to watch that for 90 seconds. if you have the overgrowth jewel see the residue in the water. that's the actual yeast that is coming out of your saliva and going into did water, means you have an overgrowth. if you don't correct it you'll only temporarily lose weight if you lose weight at all all, and it's definitely coming back. >> how do you uncandida yourself? >> we have a specific protocol designed to eliminate the overgrowth. we treat both clients looking to resolve weight issues but also clients that have a specific metabolic issue. we treat both. >> if you have that issue, you can get help, and people think oh, i can't loss it. there is something wrong with me, i tried everything, and maybe this is the one thing they didn't try. >> right. and usually what happens we
9:15 am
the metabolic factors on our own, but all we're doing when we go on a weight loss program is taking mud and shrinking it at the wall and hope it sticks. you might hit one or two but if you don't hit all of them you'll see things like slow weight loss, stubborn weight loss, plateau all the time, and there is that signal that as soon as you stop it you start seeing th weight coming back. means you didn't fix anything. >> you had some of your clients come on the show before, and that means they're just amazed that finally they figured out what that missing link was. >> they're losing it quickly without exercise, what amazes them the most is that they're not hungry or craving the foods that used to stop them in the path. when they stop my program they continue losing the weight or keep it off for years. >> you've lost a ton of weight, and your clients have, too. how much in general have you seen? >> my average client losses between three to seven pounds per week, so my average lady
9:16 am
week cycle will lose between 30 and 40 pounds. guys arers would, they just walk in the office and drop weight and we don't like them. >> hi, everybody. you're the podcast. >> i do. so like if people want more information about the weight loss program or if they want tips and tricks on things that they can do to get started before they even come into my office if they goat to dr. nash.com, i have podcasts that i release new ones every week, and we're getting really good feedback on the material that i put in there. that's something to look at. >> there we are. >> look at that. what are your hours there? >> we start in the morning at 6:00. >> and let's talk about the special offer. >> usually if people contact my office, through my website or other methods the evaluation to determine if you have the problem is $50. but if they mention that they saw me on "the morning blend" we will do that same evaluation for 19. >> excellent. great having you dr. nash.
9:17 am
>> don't forget, if you mention that you saw dr. nash on "the morning blend," the the standard evaluation fee is only $19, normally $50. >> dr. nash's office located on west pacific avenue in henderson. to learn more you can give her office a call or visit her website. up next on the blend, good times never seemed to good as we pay tribute to neil diamond. >> i am, i said. you can like or follow us. vegasmorningblend.com.
