temperatures in the mid 50s for sunday with rain starting around noon and continuing into the overnight hours. all told expect about 12 hours worth of steady rain to fall in the las vegas valley with models saying anywhere from 0.15" to 0.75" for las vegas. i'd expect something closer to 0.2"-0.3" of rain for the las vegas valley with isolated pockets mostly in the foothills of local mountains seeing more. snow levels will initially start relatively high, with only the higher terrain of mt. charleston and the sheep range getting snow but snow levels will fall quickly once the rain departs. cold air will rapidly flow into las vegas as the surface low's center pushes east and the upper level cold core moves over head. that cold core will drop temperatures and bring the chance for some quick flurries and snow showers as the storm continues eastward. winds will dramatically increase behind the front with winds sustained around 25mph and gusting to 50 or so mph. wind advisories are likely for las vegas and the surrounding areas. temperatures will be very cool for this time of year with
