"i worked outside in blue-collar work as an electrician and i actually had two mild heat strokes." rachael richardson recounts having to close her family's business - after her husband was diagnosed with diabetes. tonight whether we like it or not.. tax season is here.. tonight - a warning. scammers are working the phones to get their hands on your money...and it is costing americans millions. here's abc's ron claiborne. natsot: audio record of phony irs person within the next hour they will be at your doorstep to handcuff you and put you behind bars. tonight, the government is warning americans to be on high alert for a growing phone scam that is bilking taxpayers out of millions. this chicago-area woman got a call like that in december from someone claiming to be from the i-r-s, demanding she pay thousands of dollars in back taxes.

50:28 steve sisolak: i watched the story twice. i was shocked, devastated, disappointed. the day debbie's husband died, she and her neighbors kept calling 9-1-1 for help. and their calls kept getting put on hold. 6:04 darcy: when you first called and you got that recorded voice, clearly you're in a panic. what are you thinking when you hear that? debbie: to be honest i thought they were gonna answer. (butt to 6:32) when they didn't and i had to go get another phone, i thought what am i gonna do?! why aren't they answering?! 54:17 steve: when you're in that situation that you desperately need support from the 9- 1-1 system that needs to be handled immediately, and that doesn't mean getting put on hold, waiting for 60 seconds or two minutes or three minutes for that to happen. just, it's not acceptable. it has to be improved. in the 15-minute window of time surrounding debbie's emergency, metro's 9-1-1 radio systems director says there were only 6

from 2006 to 20-14, the fbi says 71 people in las vegas were shot to death by a spouse, ex-spouse or a dating partner. last june, governor brian sandoval signed a bill, banning anyone convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence from possessing a gun. it also prohibits people from buying a gun...if they have been court-ordered to stay away from an estranged partner. nevada is actually one of 13 states with these kinds of laws. a developing story tonight at a prestigious ivy league school. the president of a fraternity at cornell university is now facing some serious charges. 21-year-old wolfgang ballinger is behind bars...charged with attemped rape. he's the president of the school's psy upsilon chapter the alleged incident happened last month,...but ballinger turned himself just days ago. now, the fraternity has been suspended from the university. we are being told they are now cooperating with the investigation. and more trouble for cleveland browns quarterback johnny

thinking about it until later in life. but now - studies are showing we should be watching our levels early on to prevent things from getting out of hand. adam mccoy has the details in today's health minute. as a young woman nicole diaz nelson was very surprised when her doctor gave her some unwanted and very unexpected news. (nicole diaz/cholesterol patient) i found out i had high cholesterol about two years ago i was completely shocked because i was in my mid twenties and i had been vegetarian for a long time. and she's lucky she found out as early as she did because recent studies are showing that having high cholesterol early on can put you at a much greater risk for having heart (dr. ann marie navar/cardiology fellow duke university) so specifically for every 10 years a person has high cholesterol by the time they are 55 their future risk of heart disease was increased about a third.
