the cabins on the high roller. 13 action news reporter bryan callahan is learning more about the sky- high sex-capade. bryan. it's hard to miss the highroller when it's all lit up at night but it's what was happening inside one of those cabins last friday afternoon that caught the attention of security and then police. the arrest report says security first noticed scardianos and police are getting closer to finding the driver while playing in the street sunday.... near lake mead and pecos. police say... new leads are helping.... with the investigation... but... neighbors want more.... than just an arrest. they spoke with action news reporter.... michael burton.... he joins us live with more.... on what needs to be done.... to keep this from happening. michael... an eyewitness tells us that the driver was going so fast that when he hit the girl - her body flew and slammed into this

on bended knee - neighbors pray that two-year-old evelyn green is resting in peace. "it was just a total mess, you know? she wasn't breathing. her heart wasn't beating. it was very scary." according to police - the two year old was attending a super-bowl gathering at this duplex on a residential road. today - we spoke with one of the women who live here. "all of a sudden i just heard screaming and she was running in with the baby." she - is evelyn's mother vicki - who was understandably emotional at a vigil last night - organized by the neighborhood. "my baby just turned 2. that man took my baby and left." some witnesses tell 13 action action news that the young girl wasn't being watched. but - susan taurisano - who lives in the duplex - says that she was. "they were monitored. they were all together. they were walking as a family. when we tried to talk to the victim's mother today - she was

drivers speed down this street all the time. "they just zoom, you know? i watch this kids all the time and they just zoom down the street." another neighbor agrees. "they should put something on the street, you know? there's a lot of family around here. some speed bumps, you know? something. they should do something about this." one neighbor even stood where it happened for hours today - begging drivers to slow down. but last week.. that system went down for about 6-hours. so we want to know how that could happen? contact 13 chief investigator darcy spears was already digging into problems with metro's new 9-1-1 system before that outage. tonight.. she's still on the hunt for answers. darcy standup: last tuesday, the life-line we all depend on failed. now, a full week later, we still don't know what caused the problem or what can be done to prevent it. metro's 9-1-1 lines stopped ringing on february second from about three to nine p.m. for somewhere between 30 to 50 minutes, the system was simply dead--with callers either being dropped or getting a busy signal. when they finally got calls re-routed to henderson and north las vegas, both cities saw much higher than normal call volumes. contact 13 has learned several 9-1- 1 systems across the country have gone down recently. we asked metro---what happened to ours, but we're still

we also reached out to airbus communications--the vendor behind the new 9-1-1 system. they told us last week they're investigating the outage, but no answers from them yet either. darcy stand-up: last week, county commissioner steve sisolak responded to our reports about families kept on hold as precious minutes ticked away during medical emergencies. that was long before the outage occurred. sisolak told us staffing and funding is not the problem and he asked the sheriff for a full investigation. so far, he hasn't learned anything new. when it's a matter of life and death, 9-1-1 is where you go for help. so we won't give up unitl we get answers. darcy spears 13 action news. and we have some new information just in from metro. they're now telling 13-action news they hope to know what caused tuesday's outage in the next few days. darcy will pass that along to you.. as soon as we hear back. an antique store.... in the arts district robbed!!!

into the virtual waiting in line system..... it got rid of last summer... over long wait times!!! this is an update to a story.... you asked us to investigate. here's contact 13 investigative reporter.... stephanie zepelin. you might remember dash pash, which let customers check in to a virtual dmv line. you might also remember the dmv scrapped that program last summer. the state board of examiners voted today to put more money into the contract with the vendor, q-less. they're putting in three hundred thousand dollars more,, upping to contract to more than eight hundred thousand. q-less' dash pass service let you check in online, and come to the dmv when there was an open window for you. the dmv said it made wait times longer because some of those people never showed up.....but q-less disagreed. and... when "you ask.... we investigate". if you have a story....

a government audit came up with that 47-million dollar number. it's been a black eye for the cab industry...and it's making a difference to the drivers' bottom lines. 16:15:53 sam moffitt, yellow checker star cab driver "it's absurd how much they get for a credit card fee. three dollars?" that's coming from one of the drivers. sam moffitt says excessive fees are hurting him and his colleagues. 16:16:24 "many of the passengers think that this three dollars is part of the driver's tip, when actually it's nothing." a three dollar charge doesn't sound like much...but a state audit found it contributes a significant amount to 47-million dollars in overcharges a year. cab companies are standing up to justify their prices. 14:14:47 jason awad, lucky cab owner "they made it look like the industry is bilking the public. this is absolutely false." jason awad of lucky cab says the audit data is misleading. he explains that the fees pay for the card swipe machines....and he calls for an independent review of the industry. 14:24:22 "this purely has been

looking at 4-6 inches already on the ground. the snow is expected to stop around midnight.. but forecasters say people across pennsylvania can now brace for some freezing temperatures. in oklahoma.. the story was high winds. this is video from lake hefner.. where some serious high waves were crashing over a break wall. the forecast called for wind gusts of up to 23 miles per hour. we remain on track for continued warm weather as high pressure remains in control of the forecast.
