no word yet on a suspect description.. or a possible motive. the other shooting happened at an apartment complex near maryland parkway and hacienda. that victim was rushed to sunrise hospital.. but no information on how they're doing. metro says the gunman is still on the loose. a domestic battery suspect is in custody, after an hours long manhunt. on the area of buffalo and vegas. witnesses were flooding 13 action news last night with calls, wondering what was going on. they say police were searching their backyards, and even had a chopper overhead. police have not revealed the suspect's identity, or what charges he's facing. its been 5 years since a 15 year old girl was kidnapped and brutally murdered... in a shocking turn of events, the man charged with killing her-- pleads guilty. javier righetti's attorney says he decided to spare everyone a long trial. prosecutors say back in september 20-11, righetti abducted alyssa otremba, while she was walking home from arbor view high school. then he sexually assaulted and

next month, a jury will decide whether righetti should be executed. first on 13 action news.. new surveillance video of what happened after bags of dead animals were found on the side of a valley street.. and police hope it will lead them to the person responsible. the video from early tuesday morning shows a car driving near lake mead and lamb. then it looks like bags fall out of the car. several hours later.. patrol officers arrive and drag the bags to the side. 6 hours after that.. died.. which might provide additional clues. :14-:19 "you better apologize. you're dogs killed my dog. ate it right here. you better apologize! you better get on your knees... pray!" we all remember this intense confrontation between two dog owners after one woman's chihuahua was killed by two pit bulls last month. now.. the chihuahua's owner says she's finally getting justice. a hearing about the pit bulls

control but their owner didn't show up. now.. the dogs are officially considered dangerous.. so the owner will have to follow some rules soon.. or the pits will be put down. that woman says she will do whatever it takes to keep her dogs. a big annoucement from the white house-- president obama is going to cuba next month! president obama tweeted in part, he's traveling there to continue moving forward ties between u-s and cuba. this trip is the main event among several huge us-cuba events in the works. it's the first time in more than 80-years a sitting president will visit the country while in office. ((sot)) ben rhodes, assistant to the president "given the choice between going in december when frankly it would just kind of be a vacation down to cuba, or going now and trying to get some business done, we believe that the time is right to go." but this announcement is not sitting well with republican presidential contenders, senators ted cruz and marco rubio...who both have cuban roots. obama will be there march 21st and 22nd.

from the west will kick temperatures back into the mid 70s for sunday through the middle of next week. the biggest speed bump in the weather will be some gusty-ish winds on sunday and monday from the north, but those will mostly be relegated to the colorado river valley and lake mead where wind advisories are possible. winds for las vegas will be noticeable but shouldn't gust much higher than 25mph or so. calmer winds stick around for the rest of the week and temperatures rise back to the 75-76 range or 8-12 above normal. new developments on a dispute between the fbi and apple over

someone stole their bikes from a front yard. the two young men searched for hours until a woman finally put a post on facebook. within hours.. someone spotted the bikes where the two teenagers who took them.. gave them back. v help is on the way for one part of the valley dealing with a recent spike in crime. a new command center will be established in the mountain's edge area.. which gets more calls than any say they've been living in fear. the new command center is expected to open sometime later this year. a woman known as a "serial stowaway" has been arrested again! this time, in chicago! police say 64-year-old marilyn hartman violated her probation yesterday, when she showed up at chicago's o'hare international airport. her probation bars her from even being on airport property. she does wear an electronic monitoring device. hartman has been charged with trespassing and petition to violate probation. bill cosby is fighting back!
